Short-Term Running Goals:

-Find some good local races to run that will motivate me to stay in shape.

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list.

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

Personal:

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I live in the Twin Cities with my family and am an Epidemiology PhD Student. Running is the only hobby I have time for :)

6:48 pace, Como classic winter (via Hendon). It is interesting how as it gets warmer you dress lighter, and end up feeling just as cold as you were when it was 30 degrees colder. Still, it's nice when your movement feels less constricted.

Approximately 6:50 pace, west river north. After running in the Supernovas for a few straight weeks, the Hurricanes felt very clunky.

6:10 pace, Res woods to McCarrons lake. For being nearly 30 degrees when I started, it wasn't the best run. There was lots of ice from the freeze thaw cycle so thankfully as it was a Saturday morning I was able to safely run a lot of it on the roads as opposed to sidewalks. The air was kind of dirty, and you could see an actual haze at times. To shake things up on the way back I did 6x1 minute on, 1 minute off. Knee hurt a bit.
