Short-Term Running Goals: -Find some good local races to run that will motivate me to stay in shape. Long-Term Running Goals: -Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list.
-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.
Personal: I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I live in the Twin Cities with my family and am an Epidemiology PhD Student. Running is the only hobby I have time for :) |

| | 7:15 pace, ran around St Paul campus and Roseville. Frankly, I'm surprised it was that fast. It was one of those Mondays after a snow where you come back to an area you had slogged through earlier and it got plowed during the 20 minutes you were gone.

| | Today's run was surprisingly comfortable- the cold didn't feel very cold, and I really can't complain about the job they did taking care of the snow on my route. 6:47 pace, east river road.

| | 6:59 pace, Como classic winter route. Felt very spring-y. It stayed so warm last night that most of the melted snow didn't refreeze and there was little ice to deal with. I know it'll get cold again but I am going to enjoy each nice day.

| | 6:04 pace. This was the second time I think I've run more than 10 miles on St A parkway. I looped around the golf course, up Resevoir blvd, and then looped around Silverwood park.

| | 6:48 pace, Como classic winter (via Hendon). It is interesting how as it gets warmer you dress lighter, and end up feeling just as cold as you were when it was 30 degrees colder. Still, it's nice when your movement feels less constricted.

| | Approximately 6:50 pace, west river north. After running in the Supernovas for a few straight weeks, the Hurricanes felt very clunky.

| | 6:10 pace, Res woods to McCarrons lake. For being nearly 30 degrees when I started, it wasn't the best run. There was lots of ice from the freeze thaw cycle so thankfully as it was a Saturday morning I was able to safely run a lot of it on the roads as opposed to sidewalks. The air was kind of dirty, and you could see an actual haze at times. To shake things up on the way back I did 6x1 minute on, 1 minute off. Knee hurt a bit.

| | Today was definitely fast, although I don't know if it was really the 6:33 pace that I calculated for west river road. There was very little interruption due to the ice, which was nice. Very warm outside; I got to run in shorts and never felt cold at all.

| | Rainy and windy morning. I tried to do the real Como classic for the first time in months, but the soft surface trail was a total slip and slide. Not bothering to get my exact pace.

| | Treadmill day. It was warm out so I thought about running outside, but that probably would have been a mess. Apparently we got almost 8 inches.

| | 6:53 pace, west river north. Apparently we got upwards of 8 inches of snow by yesterday morning, but the roads and paths were really clear. It's nice to run in clean air and clean snow.

| | 6:01 pace, east river road. I did a 54321 workout on the way back. It was good to pass the time as I ran into the wind and also because I am out of shape of course. The wind came decently strong and was very cold on my way home, so my thawing experience was quite painful today. Slightly faster going out than coming back.

| | 6:44 pace, St. A parkway. Sunny and cold, like 3 degrees this morning. But I was dressed for it so I felt fine.

| | East to Como lake. I was already running fast so I decided to do one segment fast. It ended up being 1.06 miles at 5:11 pace. YIKES. 6:32 pace overall.
