Russian champion tries Crocs, commits to racing a marathon in them

Nikolay Chavkin in the video below did 3x1000, first two in Adidas carbon-fiber models, the last one in Crocs. Surprised by the result (2:52, 2:52, 2:50) with the fastest interval done in Crocs, he committed to racing a marathon in Crocs if the video gets 42K likes and 195 comments (for 42 km 195 m, the marathon distance). Nikolay's current marathon PR is 2:14:00. The video was created by a Russian sporting goods store chain. Their moto is "more sports - brighter life", which we think is wonderful, and also deserves a Like. If you want to see a fast marathon in Crocs, go to the video and click the Like button. Basketball this morning, felt pretty good I wore my Apple Watch for the first time to basketball. 2 mile run from the gym to the 13th tee box in 19:14 (9:24) felt pretty good, then did 12 machines.

This is the first race I have ran since 2017.  I have gained quite a bit of weight and I have also struggled with an ankle injury for the past 3 years.  I was happy today to just finish.  My goal was to break 30 minutes, so I was pleased with my time and effort. I did a 1 warm-up with Jarren before the race.

1- 8:06 I started faster than was planned

2- 8:46

3- 9:00 I had to stop and walk a few times.

Anyway overall I was happy, I got a nice award for placing second in my age group.  Jarren did pretty good for not being in running shape 6th overall and 1st in his age group 19:42.

Basketball. Ran a route from the gym over to Rlington Parkway and then down to 400 South and then back on SR 9 to the gym.  I ran the first miles, then walked the last. Then I went to the gym and lifted 10 machines, then 25 minutes in the sauna.
