I ran the Hurricane 5K this morning.  Overall I was pretty pleased with my race.  I took 2nd to a high school kid from Vegas, but not by much maybe 10 to 15 seconds.

3 mile run over to Hurricane Community Center

1-5:54 High school kid starts off very fast, I had a few mishaps trying to get around this little kid that kept cutting me off the first 400m.

2-6:01 Felt pretty good

3-6:17 Actually gained some more on the high school kid, but not enough to be in place to beat him

.3- 1:43 Disappointed the course was long

19:57 (6:04)

I looked at my watch at 3.1 and the time was 18:50

Did 1 mile cool down waiting for awards, then 3 more miles home to La Verkin, now I'm dealing with a nagging cough from running fast.

Good job getting in a race! Solid job. I'd be happy with that time right now.
