Stay healthy this year. Coming off of a bad shin splint which took about 3-4 months to fully recover.

Longer run today. My left knee was really hurting. It started right about mile 3 and I was pretty much straight legged running the rest of the way in. My IT band was acting up. Hopefully it was just the cold weather. I may take off the rest of the week to make sure it feels alright.

Felt good again today. I think my little knee problem may be gone. It may have been weather related, only to the extent that it has been pretty cold here and I wonder if I hadn't warmed up enough to stretch it out. I won't try for any crazy distances, but I think I can start picking it up a little bit.

Had a nice longer run today. My IT band was starting to bug me a bit, not sure how much of it was the distance or it being so cold. I am sure it was a mixture of both. Average pace was pretty slow, but we had some good hills.

A good longer run today. I felt pretty good except for our .50 mile hill. At one point I was able to stary jogging up the whole thing, but now I have to stop and walk a portion of it. It is a pretty intense uphill portion.

Ran today with our BDE XO. It was more of a mentorship run since he has been a Company Commander for the unit that I will be going to. I wanted to hit him up on some quesions regarding the unit and what to expect. It was a decent run.

| | Had an enjoyable run on the treadmill at the gym today. Haven't been on a treadmill for a while and this was a good reason to keep using the treadmill every so often. I like being able to set it at a speed that I know is accurate and one that I want to hit. Ended up running just a bit slower than a 7:30 pace. |

I am not sure if it is a good thing or not since I don't think there is anyway I could hit my first while within 45 seconds of my last...I guess not everyone has fast-twitch muscles.
