Running Accomplishments:

Pretty new. Have done some training for specific Army competitions which have got me running a pretty decent amount, but by no means incredible.

5k-  21:00 (Oct. 2008)

10k-  41:07*

10 mile- (upcoming)

1/2 marathon- (haven't done it yet)

Marathon - Hopefully this year...

Short-Term Running Goals:

Sub 19:00 5k

Run one marathon within the next 12 months

Stay healthy this year. Coming off of a bad shin splint which took about 3-4 months to fully recover.

Build back up to 60+ miles a week

Long-Term Running Goals:

Finish a marathon sub 3:00:00 

Personal:

A CPT in the US Army stationed at Fort Benning, GA. I've three wonderful kids and the best wife I could ask for. Been away from the running scene for a while, and I sure miss it. Trying to make a comeback!

Longer run today. My left knee was really hurting. It started right about mile 3 and I was pretty much straight legged running the rest of the way in. My IT band was acting up. Hopefully it was just the cold weather. I may take off the rest of the week to make sure it feels alright.

Eliptical today. Went for an hour and felt pretty good. No knee pain.

A nice easy run today. My knee was hurting from last weeks run, so today I didn't want to push it too far. After the run we did a 50-40-30-20-10 pyramid of push-ups and the ab 300 workout.

Felt good again today. I think my little knee problem may be gone. It may have been weather related, only to the extent that it has been pretty cold here and I wonder if I hadn't warmed up enough to stretch it out. I won't try for any crazy distances, but I think I can start picking it up a little bit.

Shortened the run today. Don't want to jump in too quickly with the high mileage. Tomorrow or Friday I will try for a 5-6 mile run and see how I feel.

Had a good run this morning. It has been a few days since the last one, and I felt it! The cold may have added to not feeling well, especially in the chest. But I think it was mostly taking a few days off and probably not eating the best over the weekend in Slovenia. Looking to get more consistent this week.

Had a nice longer run today. My IT band was starting to bug me a bit, not sure how much of it was the distance or it being so cold. I am sure it was a mixture of both. Average pace was pretty slow, but we had some good hills.
