Finally started to feel good. I had to take last week off to make sure this thing gets fixed. I also finally got my new Garmin 305, so hopefully this will work out. I averaged a 7:48 trying to keep it light. Has been feeling okay today, so hopefully I can keep up this run throughout the week.

Today's run was good. Same as yesterday, but this time I had four of my soldiers with me. We went slower because they aren't in the best running shape, but it was probably good for me to keep it slow as my leg isn't fully healed.

Went out today a little farther. Felt pretty good, I am still running with an ACE Bandage around my leg. I think I ran faster than I would have liked too, but I didn't have my GPS watch so I just timed the total run. I think I averaged around a 7:15-20. The last .5 mile I ran was 3:20, which is definitely faster than I would have liked. HOpefully next week and can be back running 6 days a week and more than 30 miles.

Wow, I think my leg is officially out of action. Today's run was short, but faster than it should have been and my leg is no good.

I cancelled my run in the Rome marathon. It has been too stressful with this injury. I keep trying to come back and run before I should so that I can still be in shape for the Marathon, but my leg isn't healing and I won't be in the kind of shape I need to be in for the Marathon. It is a sad day.

However, now I will just let my leg heal and slowly start building the mileage back up and see if I can hit a Marathon up in the Fall. Maybe Ljubljana or Florence? I haven't seen the schedulel yet, but we'll see. It feels like a ton of bricks has been lifted off my shoulders though!

Morning cross fit workout. 5 rounds of 20 burpies, 20 air squats, 10 double under jump rope, and 20 crunches.

I stayed away from the jump rope because of my leg.

PM: 30 minutes on the eliptical...I am knew to that machine so still getting used to it, but I got a pretty good workout and did a little over 4.5 miles. Occasionally I will get going really fast for about a minute and do that every few minutes.

Still taking time off for this nasty shin splint...I have been trying to hit the eliptical every day. I have been trying to do some good speed work on it by going for a few minutes really fast then slowing down for a little. I am still very unsure as to what kind of workouts are good on an eliptical. I don't think my leg muscles are accomstomed to it either, but that is getting better with every workout. Hopefully I can keep some kind of cardio for when I get back to running. Hopefully the second week of Feb.
