Wow, I think my leg is officially out of action. Today's run was short, but faster than it should have been and my leg is no good.

I cancelled my run in the Rome marathon. It has been too stressful with this injury. I keep trying to come back and run before I should so that I can still be in shape for the Marathon, but my leg isn't healing and I won't be in the kind of shape I need to be in for the Marathon. It is a sad day.

However, now I will just let my leg heal and slowly start building the mileage back up and see if I can hit a Marathon up in the Fall. Maybe Ljubljana or Florence? I haven't seen the schedulel yet, but we'll see. It feels like a ton of bricks has been lifted off my shoulders though!

I just saw you had planned to run in Rome in march, it would have been a great opportunity to meet in person. I have just recently joined the blog and I didn't expect to find another "italian" blogger.

I am really sorry for your injury, it is really frustrating especially during a marathon preparation.

Keep cross training and Florence (or any other marathon in Fall) is not that far away.

Thanks for what you do.

Sorry Colby. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Yeah I'd hate to run a first marathon with spotty training, probably a good call. Hope you are back at it soon.

SO jealous re: your assignment. Always wanted to be stationed there, but there never seemed to be an opening at the right time...sigh...sorry about your marathon change--as pretty as Florence is, it will be well worth waiting!!!

Karen, sounds like you were prior military. Vicenza is a fun place. Italy is a bit different, but we are enjoying it. Can't wait until I can get all healed up!

Yep! 8 years AD (back in the 90's...) Venice for the Festivale de V. is an amazing site! There used to be a marathon there as well?
