Green to Beirdneau Ridge down to Crimson Trail up and over to junction with Spring Hollow then back. I started at 5:30 so it was dark for the first half. Icy trails in the dark = sketchy. Rest of the run went well. Dang tired now.
Trail was a sheet of ice so I headed up the dirt road instead. Still almost fell over on ice a few times, but it was mostly runnable. Stomach was upset the whole time even after spending some time in the bushes. Came home and spent the next 6 hours back and forth from the bathroom. Completely drained now, but feeling better.
I need to patent this course. It could be a cool race. I would have to cap it at 100 runners or so to not overcrowd the singletrack but it would be a fun one. Today I hit the outbound hard. Pobably tinman tempo effort. Tough to tell in the dark and with snow and mud on the course. Coming back down was a more moderate pace.

Bryce Canyon (Under the Rim + Rim Trail Linkup) - 30 miles
Awesome Awesome day/run. My wife and I had a wonderful day without the kids (my awesome sister watched them for the weekend). My wife spent the day traveling around taking pictures and I guess I did too. I did it on foot and she did it driving. Win/win. I need to sift through about 2 thousand pictures and pick my favorites. I will post a few at that point. Awesome trail though. It was more challenging than I thought. Lots of snow/mud/sand/rocks/bushes to slow things down.
T-6:30 (counting 30 mins taking pics) (13:00) 5400' vert climb (6700' descent)
Route: Rainbow Point to Fairyland Point with an out and back to Whiteman TH for resupply.
Deer Fence South to past Millville Canyon. The leg/back/groin thing that has been on and off bugging me is back. Gotta get that healed up for good. And figure out what it really is. It nearly brought me to a halt today.
AM: Hiked up to "Flag Hill" (6620'). The hill by the mouth of Providence Canyon. Had a few mins after so I went up Providence Canyon trail a bit as well. 3 miles or so in 65 mins. 1800' vert
Lunch: Hiked up Green Canyon Face. Only had time for a 30 min climb but managed to make it a mile in 22:30. down in 10:30. All in jeans and a polo shirt. Next time I am bringing proper clothes. 1400' vert
AM: Deer Fence and Dry Canyon. The trail up Dry was pretty icy and slick. Hokas were a poor choice. 7.1 miles T-1:12 1600' vert
Lunch: Green Canyon Face (again). I returned again today to see if I could get further up the mountain with my limited time. I did well. Beat Mike's Strava record! 2.6 miles T-42 1900' vert
PM: Trail run with Joe. River Trail via the Upper Canal Trail and lower spring hollow loop. Nice and muddy in places and lightly raining. Joe even superman'ed it on the trail. He lived through it unfortunately.
Hammered the hill again today. Spent 10 mins with heart rate above 160 and 10 mins above 170. Limited by my legs though. They were pretty tired. Awesome views of the valley with a dusting of snow. Should have brought the camera.
Joined Mike in the afternoon (after he got off work) for a nice run. We headed north from First Dam past Green and up into the foothills above Hyde Park Canyon. We turned up a big hill and explored along the bench on some muddy roads and some snowy pieces until we hit a sweet ridge to run on. I think it is called Cedar Ridge. Cruised down the spine and headed back the easy way. I took lots of pictures and made sure to keep the pace easier.
T- Not sure since I paused my watch for a pee break and missed 2.5 miles. I hate that. Maybe 2:30 or so. 15 miles. 3000' vert
Watched Jaxon, Beth and two of my sisters run the Cottonwood Heights 5K. I took pics and watched the girls. Beth and my sisters stayed with Jaxon and helped him PR. 36:30. He loved it.
After that I headed up to wasatch and I-80 to hike Grandeur Peak (8299'). Looked like fun on strava so off I went. I went pretty hard but due to icy conditions for the last quarter mile and heading up the wrong (northern most) ridge I wasn't able to go as fast as I wanted. Great hike though. 3200' in 2.2 miles. I added a bit at the bottom to get to 5 miles. Went to my parents and pigged out. Happy Thanksgiving!

Dodged the crowds today and headed up into the hills (of course). Mike and I 'ran' up from First Dam up the north ridge of Green until there was no more up to go. A bit of scrambling, sliding and stumbling around on rocks and snow. A perfect morning of NOT shopping.
Providence to Dry Canyon - Up the canyon for a few miles until the snow became to deep to continue. I was going to try and cut across on Syncline Trail but it didn't happen. I headed back over to Prov and went up for a couple miles until my body said enough. Not enough easy days this week has turned my legs to jello. Quite the week.
