3.5 miles in the morning

In this life we all find our breaking points from time to time. I found one of mine last night. Came home from work around 4 and thought about running from my house through Washington fields over to my inlaws home. It sounded good so I told my wife and she said she could pick me up over there after. Well 100 degrees + 10 miles - no hydro of any kind= Superfly almost going to the ER.

I had to stop and walk 3-4 times as I was dizzy and finding it hard to stay on my feet. I told my wife I wish I'd had a panic button that I could have pushed and had here come get me around 6 miles into the run. Because of my pride, I made myself finish, not a very smart move.

After last night theres a new rule in our home. No running when its 100 outside. I'm just gonna have to wait until after 6:30 or 7pm to go out after work.

time to get a camel back. if your going to run that far in the heat. you need hydro. if you go down out there by your self you will cook a long time before some one comes and gets you. great job keeping up the miles.

In my experience, the benefits of running in the heat end at about 5 miles of jogging. After that, the need to recover from the heat stress consumes the recovery benefits from the workout. So when hot, jog a bit, then go more when it cools off.
