| | AM: Its been a long 6 weeks. Probably one that I want to remember through the good times but I want to forget very quickly. I am not out of the woods by any means but I like to run in them very soon :). My dad finally was able to properly diagnos me with what is call a hip deraingment. In other words, something in the joint is catching or hinging when I move and causing the nerves and tissue around the area to be very painful. Referred pain has even been more brutal through my whole right leg and right abdominal area. I have given stretches to do that will streghten and help the area. Already the pain has localized and I have been able to lift my right leg and even do a situp. Sounds pretty lame but that is huge improvement in less than one day. We will see how the next 2 days go and then I will be allowed to "slowly ramp up"...Make IT Happen...
Ran with my mom today and yesterday. Very cool...

| | AM: Stretched all day yesterday very diligantly. This morning I woke up and have not felt this pain free in 6 weeks. I am more than excited to try and run 2-3 miles tomorrow pain free. This will be huge. I will continue to ease back into this. The pain is disappearing. Don't even know what to say except...rad...

| | pm: no watch. Just went out to see how I felt. Wanted to do an easy mile. First 1/4 mile felt pain and then it eased up and subsided through the first mile. A little tightness and discomfort in my groin. My gait felt a little off but comfortable. I can tell my fitness is gone but not worried about that. No pain after the run which is a great sign. 85 degrees and 100% humidity...

| | PM: wanted to do between 3-5 easy. Ended up starting at 8:10 pace and then gradually down to 7:05 pace. Felt good to try and work on the tightness in my right leg. My fitness feels destroyed. Oh well. It will come back eventually. 7:34AP

| | PM: part of the easement plan I'm doing. Skipped the group run to solo effort tonight. Did an MP pickup for mile 2 and 3. Felt comfortable. Eased off for the rest of the run. Just trying to get my gait back to normal. Starting to feel like it's coming back.

| | LUNCH: Slept like crap last night. Missed my alarm to run with the crew. Who knows when I fell asleep last night. Felt like and eternity in the blink of an eye. Trying to get back into the routine structure again and its not going to be easy I guess for me but oh well. The effort is there. Sludged through this run at lunch today. I felt like garbage. One of those runs where you wish you didn't do it but glad you got it in. Fitness felt great last night and horrible today. 7:40AP(felt like 9flatAP):))) Oh well I appreciate days like this because it makes the good days seem really fun.
Probably going to attempt a 4-6 HMP tempo down AF canyon on Saturday if anyone wants to join me. I don't know where my fitness is right now at all but going to try to do SC Half as a workout next weekend bc I have been registered since March. That and the turkety trot will probably round off the year unless I feel like I want to do something out of state.

| | AM: I slept well last night. First time all week it felt like. Very important that I felt relaxed when I awoke so that I could run comfortably. I met Chris Pusey at Kohler's in Highland to do the workout. It was fantastic that Chris could meet up bc I do not think I could have done this on a solo effort. I have struggled to make this routine come back to me quicker than should be.
We took off and the plan was to do 7up/7down with 4-6 tempo on the way down depending on how I felt. I was more focused on the way back then the way up. The goal was just to get to the fork in the road and focus from there. On the way up, I was struggling bad. I mean my right achilles was so tight that I felt very worried something was wrong. We were not going fast at all due to my effort but I must have stopped 8 times to stretch my stupid right leg. I kept telling myself, "Dude, this is not a tough climb, get up there!" I am glad that I had Chris to run with because it was helpful to just run off of him. Anyways, made it to the fork in the road and took a break to find a secret bathroom twice and stretch really well and get a good idea of where my legs were at.
I told Chris I was going to ease into the tempo the first 1/4 mile and then go from there. My goal was to do 'comfortable for 4-6 miles" and just get my legs some turnover that they really have not had since mid Aug. Sure enough, I took off and I felt decent. I was ahead for the first 1/2 mile and then Chris caught up. He stayed with me for about 200 meters and then just took off out of nowhere. I looked at my watch to see what pace we were going and thought well this is fine for me. Chris was about 10 meters ahead of me through the first mile and increased his lead from there over the course of the tempo. I felt good until about 4 miles and then backed off to MP from HMP for mile 5. Chris ended up going about 5.5 miles of HMP tempo. He looked fantastic the whole time. Mile 2 and 3 for him were sub 5:20. He looked very smooth. It is so easy to just clip away on this aided stuff but the legs felt really comfortable and I was suprised at how good the effort felt especially with how tight my achillies felt on the way up. I was very worried I had done something again to injure myself. The weather was perfect. I was definitely fatigued after 13 miles.
Splits: (5:58, 5:31, 5:25, 5:54, backed off to 6:21)
I am pleased with the workout. Looking forward to doing some real running soon :)

| | AM: Quick turn around from last nights run. Not smart but hopefully routine will come back soon. Met Mike and Matt at Scott's house. I knew Matt was going to do some tempo when the text said Scott's house again so I planned a little Fartlik. Mike had already done 3 miles tempo yesterday and was kind enough to dog it with me. Nothing special about it. 4 mile WU and 2.5 miles of Fartlik. Only 5 surges. Just a mediocre pickup run. Didn't clock the splits. Just wanted to get my legs used to some kind of quick pace again. Need more "quick" in the pace though. Rest periods were too slow also. 7:30AP

| | LUNCH: Had a ton of flem and could barely talk this morning. Decided to finally try and rest bc I could not last night. I love when a little rest and relaxation pays off. Easy miles along PRT. Felt very relaxed and very easy effort during the solo run. It rained on me the first 2.5 miles and cleared up nicely. This fall has been gorgoeus! 7:40AP...

| | Afternoon: ran after a short Halloween work day. Ben M ran the first 2 miles with me and then Jessica Stanford met up on the Rock Trail and ran the last 4 or so with me. Great weather. And fun conversations during the run. Took it really easy the whole run. 8:00 AP
