Legs were fresh, lungs less so due to the rock dust yesterday. Warmed up about 1.6 miles with Jake, Kolten and Henry and then did 3xmile before cooling down. Splits were 5:40, 5:34, 5:02.

Warmed up and did 6xhalf mile with 2-2.5 mins rest. Lungs felt terrible today, not sure what's wrong with them but lots of wheezing and generally felt like I had inhaled sandpaper.

Splits were 2:45, 2:44, 2:42, 2:46, 2:40, 2:38.

I need to get back into a good routine of sauna, supplements, core/drills, and yoga. I've gotten distracted with the exciting new move and generally have taken a bit of a reset since summer races- but it's time to get locked in again. Just need to figure out this lung issue.

Warmed up 3 mile warm up

4 miles at 5:55 pace. Felt good the first 2-3 miles and then got hard towards the end. The lungs are still having some trouble.

Mile in 5:22

2 quarter miles at 5:20 pace.

3 mile cooldown.

I warmed up and cooled down in my new Nike Structure 26 shoes and I'm a huge fan of them. It's kind of hard to predict what shoes I'll like until I've done some longer running in then, when I first put these on they felt blocky but they felt incredibly smooth today. Don't seem great for workouts but for 6:30-8 pace they seem amazing.

Feeling low energy on runs lately. Probably just too focused on getting the new house figured out. Realistically it's going to be months before this project is finished and I need to limit my focus on it- but there do be a lot to figure out and plan- I just need to spend a little less time on it.

Throat and lungs are feeling rough, finally seeing the ENT next week and hopefully can get that figured out. Hopefully I can get some nasal spray budesonide, that'll help a lot with the upcoming races.

Warmed up 2 miles

2 miles at marathon pace- 6:15

6x800m with 2 mins rest at 5k pace- 2:43, 2:40, 2:40, 2:39, 2:36, 2:35. Definitely a little faster than current 5k pace but that's where I should be and hopefully will be in a month. Actually felt pretty good today, my lungs are still feeling pretty rough but I wasn't really pushing on these.

4 strides

Kind of a short cooldown, it was late.

Found a pair of xc spikes for $7 at sierra trading post, they were size 11 (I'm 12.5) but I decided to go for it anyways. Made for a rough race, but probably less rough than sliding around the grass in trainers.

I was surprised at how fast it went out, I was in like 30th place the first half mile and then moved up slowly. It was kind of hard to get around people and it was hard to get into a good rhythm with my feet feeling pretty awkward- but I had fun.

4.5 mile cooldown with Weber guys and Simon.
