Running Accomplishments:

PRs 14:47 5 K (Portland Twilight), 1:06:33 (Utah Valley Half Marathon (aided)).

As a 14 year old in 2013: 4:31.58 1500. 9:35:32 3000m (Utah Youth boys state record). 17:01 5K (Draper Days). 1:15:21 half (Utah Valley (aided)).

 

Short-Term Running Goals:

Get the marathon under 2:20.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Make it to the Olympics in the marathon. Keep training throughout my life.

Personal:

 I have five brothers and five sisters,
all younger. I'm currently a PhD Student in the CSEM (computational science) program at UT Austin. Not married (yet). Running helps me balance out the sedentary lifestyle of a grad student ;-).

Felt unusually tired today, so I ended up forgoing the 20-mile long run. Ran around the lake in Pflugerville. Did several mile pickups ranging from 5:00-5:20.

Did 9 miles in the afternoon in Utah.

Did 10 miles in the morning with my dad - we had a two mile pickup in the middle. I was able to do the pickup in 9:59. It was pretty cold.

Did 10 miles in the morning before my flight back to Texas.

Did the usual 20-mile long run with 3 fast at the end. I was able to do the first fast mile in 5:01, but then things started to go wrong (loss of balance/spasm). The next mile was 5:43, and I finished in 16:34.

Total of twelve miles (9+3). Did a mile interval in 5:05.

Did 9 in the morning, no interval. Got cold and soaked. I was feeling weird later in the day, and ended up skipping the second run.

Nine miles with Noah, including a 6 mile progression run averaging 6:01 pace, then three later on my own.

Did 8x1 mile at the Pflugerville Soccer loop - alternating directions. The intervals were 5:18, 5:12, 4:57, 5:04, 4:53, 4:58, 4:59, and 4:51. The first two intervals I was waking up - hence the slower times. There was headwind and uphill on the even intervals - so I'm quite happy with the last one in 4:51. The rest was 600m.
