I had a very weird run today. It is very hard to explain so please take my word for it. I ran seven miles at a 7:13 pace with a 0.5 incline. But I do have to say taking the Albuterol made a big difference when I was speeding up at the end of my run. The funny thing is that my legs are not really soar. I think that is a very good thing. Anyway, not much going on today just work and then I have to go see a movie with my wife after work. I am not really into scary movie but my wife wants to see the movie “My bloody valentine.” Tonight is our date night and she really wants to see that movie for date night. Anyway, thanks for reading and have a great day!

You're running great. Don't take offense to this advice, but be sure to incorporate some steeper hills. The body adapts quickly so you have to keep it challenging and applying a new stimulus.

I am not offended at all! Thank you for all the help. I was thinking about adding some more incline in my running. I was thinking about waiting a month before my race and start adding some incline. I am just having a hard time knowing when to add and when not to. Thanks again!!

Barry - why are using an inhaler? Do you have asthma?

From barry on Wed, Jan 21, 2009 at 21:28:20

I think i am getting asthma. The job i work i re-manufacture toner cartridge; and in the process of remaining the cartridge i inhale a lot of toner and i think my lungs are being affected. So i started using an inhaler and it has made a big difference.

I just wondered, as I have read a few articles lately about whether or not using it helps distance running (if you use it when you don't have asthma). It is actually on the banned drug list for sprinters (without medical release), but it is still debatable whether it unfairly helps distance runners. I know there was a big debate about Dana Torres (the swimmer) using it as well. Interesting, from what I have read it does not surprise me that it helped you for the last "sprint" in your run, but it is interesting that you say you have felt it help you when you take it in the middle of your runs too.

take care, you are a very nice guy to see "my bloody valentine" with your wife ;-).
