Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc. 

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Pipeline Couloir! Started from Snowbird base and hiked about 1200ft to the snow, skinned up to the base of the couloir, and bootpacked it up to the top. We decided to summit the West Twin which turned out to be sketchy. The ski down was super fun though - such an iconic line and the steepness (42 degrees) was definitely doable with the slushy conditions. A fun adventure with about 3500ft of vertical.

PM - Horsepark loops for 4 miles, 8:30 pace. Tired! 

Week summary: Only ended up with about 17 miles of running in 4 days this past week but with 10,000ft of skinning/bootpacking/hiking with skis (~25 miles running equivalent). Work has been really busy and stressful recently, so all the time in the mountains has been much needed.

AM - Strength training class for 40 minutes. 

PM - 5k with Jake at Wheeler Farm, 8:10 pace. Struggling to make it through the week - work has been draining lately.

AM - Turnover workout. 4 x 0.25 mi on 2.5% downhill around 6:10 pace. My legs have completely forgotten how to move faster. I could feel quite a few imbalances that I don't feel when running slower, so that's a good reminder to keep up my therapy. Overall 5 miles, 8:00 pace.
