Quality for the Olympic Trials in the marathon Personal: I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.
I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)
I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

| | AM/PM - Ski tour w/ Jake: Pink Pine x 3 laps [3800']. Went searching for dry snow and found it on the wind-sheltered portions of the ridge. Skied cream cheese back to the trailhead and scoped some potential lines for tomorrow. Classic LCC spring day.
PM - 4 miles with Jake. My first ski-run double! I did a couple half-mile efforts at 5:45 pace so it wouldn't be a total shock to run faster at the work indoor triathlon next week.

| | AM - Skied Little Pine Chute. We have looked at this chute for years and finally decided to do it! It was quite an adventure day...the conditions were a bit challenging with a combo of slush and icy roller ball debris, but we had a lot of fun!

Beat my time by 2:30 from last year. I'm in the lead with still two more days of individual time trials (people get really competitive, especially the guys!) but most of the faster ones have already gone. It would make me pretty happy to put all their egos in check :) Regardless, I felt very strong structurally with no pain and was able to get in a hard workout.

| | Lift skiing at Jackson Hole. A nicely timed storm made the drive up yesterday challenging at times, but the reward was soft pow turns off the tram in the morning. We skied hard all day and our legs were toast by 4pm.

| | AM/PM - Ski Tour w/ Jake in Grand Teton National Park!!! We started at the Taggart trailhead and skied 2 laps off Peak 9975 aka "25 Short" [4900']. Everything was perfect - unreal alpine views, hero snow conditions (creamy powder), sunshine, and we even nailed the route-finding

| | Lift skiing at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. We skied with a couple friends who are way better (faster) skiers than we are. So it was a constant chase to keep up with them! I think the hard, fast skiing was a little much for my abdomen as it started to hurt and ended up lingering for a few days.
