When I was driving back to my house I got pulled over for like 3 offenses but I only got a warning. Honestly probably the scaredest I've ever been. | | Took my dog to prospector to run because she really wanted to run. She ran the whole time which was a very good accomplishment for her because she is very old. Also she's a wimp lol, when we got to the tunnel she got only a little bit into it then started walking about 1/4 mph and she kept getting slower so I took her out and we ran up the big hill where we practice downhills, and on our way down she slowed way down again. But I kept telling her encouraging phrases because she was doing very good. Also we rocked out to Carrie underwood on the way back.

| | we had the best workout ever today! Tempo on the track it was 15 minutes progression. I didn't want to lead until the last laps so I didn't and it made me push really good on the last one and it was beautiful. Weights after and I only went to 2/5 classes today so that was also beautiful. Oh and happy birthday to my mom she's also beautiful.

| | We drove out to hurricane and ran a trail out there. It had lots of hills. I turned around to get 69 instead of 70 because my achillies has been bothering me lately. Right at the mile marker to say we had 1 mile left I ate it so hard. My hip down to halfway of my upper leg is all scratched and my knee is quite swollen. Live and learn lol

| | I stayed home from school today because I was quite sick but by the time practice rolled around I was feeling better and my Tuesday performance was so crappy I felt I needed to redeem myself. We had a 15 min tempo around the track increasing pace by 10 seconds every 5 minutes. It was good. I struggled the last couple minutes staying with the pack but I did and I'm so happy I did. Then we hardcore lifted some weights. My bench max is actually going down idk how that happens but bad news it's back to 65 instead of 70 lol

| | 40 min to neon spider plus striders. Like 10 minutes into our run I got a bloody nose and it didn't stop bleeding for 10 minutes, ew ahah. Everyone waited for me cause they're gems but it was kinda sucky. Through the tunnel was soo quality but alli june kept saying we were gonna die and I could've swore I was gonna find a hobo cause I went first. Sick run but pretty eventful

| | Oh man. So I had work this morning and me and my coworker skipped one of the things (that they actually don't care if we do it or not they just can't know about it) and my other coworker ratted us out so we had to go do it. It was total garbage. Then I drove to sullivan park and made up a loop with some added on around the park and stuff. It was a pretty good run. At one point I started to come up behind this boy & girl and they definitely didn't know I was there and they were totally doing something I didn't wanna see so I had to turn around before the actual time hahahaha it was so weird oh man

| | Today we had 30/30s. Which is 30 seconds at our pace we tested into, then 30 seconds recovery, that's 1 set and we did 30 sets. Honestly it's a brutal workout. The actual running isn't bad but it's a total mental game and I struggle with that to the max. Me, Addi and meskerem ran together and we pushed each other and it was way good. I was really feeling it at like 17-20 but I got my head back together and finished really good. After we had weights and I regret to inform everyone that brianna helped me realize I lied last week, I've never been able to bench 70. My max used to be 65 and now it's 60 lol. I'm working on it. PM- mustang pass so I only drive Dallen over and he left with Mitch cause that's right in my hood. Quality run but my legs were absolutely dead. Tough stuff.

PM- yoga then 30 minutes to Washington. When we stopped at the light by harts, like 6 min into the run, I got a bloody nose again. So I ran in and cleaned up with Brianna, Ellie, and Caroline. When we came out all the other girls had left us... Haha so we had to run by ourselves. Then on the way back I got another freaking one. So we ran into mcdonalds and cleaned that up. The rest of the run was fine other than an old man stopped us to assure us he wasn't staring at us. Hahaha people are weird.

| | No morning run. It was way nice. We had our junior prom assembly today and bayless was king, oh man I'm so happy. Then after school we had a tempo. I went into it basically telling myself I was gonna quit. I didn't lead til the end again because I didn't do that last week and I had a horrible run so I just stayed in the back and tried to chill. But I didn't quit at all, I stayed with it for 20 minutes and that was pretty good because I knew i could do it physically but I didn't want to mentally and I won the mental battle. Very good progress and it was beautiful team work today as well.

| | Long run!!!! And Roberts came!!!! And we did my favorite loop ever!!!! We had 60 min with 1,2,3,2,1 min pickups with equal recovery and striders after. Such a solid run. We ended with a smaller group than normal but it was still way way good. And striders felt amazing. My legs were completely beat (as were like everyone else's, this week was hard apparently) but it felt very good.

| | I woke up at like 8 to get my run in before prom. It was way easy and chill after a way tough week. I just did my loop I usually do but I had to add on cause I ran it faster than regular. Then Preston picked me up for prom and we played a ton of way fun games and me and presto won overall. Cause we're the best. Then we got ready and did pictures dinner and went to the dance and played games at dallens house and it was such a quality night. And a long awaited something at the end of the night..(;

| | I skipped morning practice because I had a really gross cough that wouldn't go away but when I woke up from a truly terrible night lol IT WAS SNOWING!!!!!!!!!! Plus it was a short day. The day was weird and hard but the workout was completely perfect oh man. It snowed during like half our workout and I wore a sweatshirt lol. We had 60/60s and we switched leading every 2 laps it was great. A total of 4 miles in the workout. Then weights after I can feel my body getting buffer.

| | AM- BEST DAY I CAN ALREADY FEEL IT TODAY IS GROUNDHOG DAY AND ALSO THE HUNDREDTH DAY OF SCHOOL we did a morning run and holt ran with us but it was so quiet cause no one would talk and we had like 5 girls there. Currently im in portuguese with my good friend dallen and we're talking about his good ol weekend and his love life<3 it's crazy cause me and Dallen have like 8/10 classes together which simplifies to 4/5 which is a great fraction
PM- wow yep this day was everything I even could've imagined. I went bowling during 8th period which i hate bowling but it was fun. And chilled the rest of the school day. Then we drove to a trail run and me Brianna and Nick and Alex drove together and partied and told secrets lol. Good times. We did 45 min and it was kind of hard but good anyways. Yep, best day ever

| | Wow no one told me it was a tempo so I brought the totally wrong shoes, dangit. we warmed up and had the smallest group ever of like 6 people doing it with us. But we switched off leaders every 2 laps and it honestly felt really easy. I think I work better with less people but I've gotta get used to working better with more people. Anyway then we cooled down and did weights and my bench press is really struggling lately guys I'm telling ya.

| | Fine and dandy day, I've now been bowling 3 days in a row and I don't even like bowling. We just had 30 minutes after school with a very small group and I talk them the pine view beer song lol. Then we did yoga after and after that we decided to go get pizza and go to the girls basketball game. So I drove Caroline, Jacey, & Sylvia up the road to little Caesars and accidentally LOCKED MY KEYS IN MY CAR. At little Caesars!!!!! Also my phone was in there and so was everyone else's so we had to walk back to the high school and call my dad to bring the spare and also have Josie drive me back to my car. Ugh how embarrassing.

| | I went to my cousins softball game in snow canyon so I just ran from there up to Ivins. And I passed where they filmed high school musical 2 which was sick cause I've never been there. It was the farthest I've ever been up that road. It was actually the longest run of my life. I was all by myself because the girls team ran during when I had work. I just ran up that road for hoursssss. But I finished it and had a great time and yeah. Good run

| | We had dogtown today and I ran the 5k with my cute brother. We got 25 minutes so it wasn't a fast pace but it was his first one and he broke 25 and he was so happy and proud and it was cute. I still got first in my age group lol... Then after to finish my minutes I went and found the girls on the half marathon course and ran some miles with them. They were going way fast it was awesome. Oh also I warmed up 10 min before the 5k.

| | We went out to suicidal tendencies and ran our long run. I was only going to go 50 but I sucked it up and went the whole 60. It felt way nice and we actually went a good quick pace. Our numbers dwindled towards the end due to half marathon soreness.

PM- 25 min tempo. We had a small group and only ended with me Jacey and meskerem. This was a huge step mentally for me because I was hurting so so bad and I told myself from the beginning that I was only going to go 20 min. It turned out to be super sick but on the cool down my hip hurt real bad and my achillies hurt real bad during the workout. Still a solid solid workout.

PM- 5x3min with equal recovery & 10 min warm/cool + weights. These were okay. Another big mental gain for me, I was only going to do 3 because of my achillies but it felt good so I kept going. I fell off a little on some of them but mostly stayed good. The last one I fell back like 75 meters from the pack and with 400 meters to go I got my crap together and caught up to Ellie by the end it felt so good, although I should stop talking about running altogether in my home because nothing good ever comes from it. Oh well. Good workout.

| | LONG RUN again. i had 70 minutes and I couldn't run with the team because of work so I didn't get out until like 2pm lol. I wanted to do foremaster but it's only a 6 mile loop so before I went through those neighborhoods I went up and around harts to get the extra miles (so that I wouldn't be tempted to just not do the last 10 min). When I was almost out of the neighborhoods I heard an ambulance go by on the main road and I was thinking about it and then all of a sudden I got out on the main road and the crash was right there, I was running right into it. I really did not know where to go so I kind of got in the road and ran around the ambulance and fire trucks, all it was though was like some guy fell off his motorcycle, so no blood. So then I ran up sunrise tires hill and started to go across foremaster which is like my favorite place cause I used to live up there and that was my favorite house ever. I seriously just forgot I was running for like 15 minutes and was just lost in my thoughts. It was bliss. Then I went back down foremaster and down the river trail and back up 2450. I got back to the high school and just kept running until 13 kilometers. Very very solid run, one of the best all year even though I was alone and running alone sucks. ( PLUS no achillies pain during the run although I did have quite a bit when I woke up and at work)

| | AM- I pulled a Sylvia and didn't talk but it was nice. The degrees in the morning is perfect I love being able to wear shorts and a tshirt and that's it
PM- 6 minute test. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I improved by about 30ish meters which is what I wanted, but I wasn't with the pack or anything. Maybe I need to focus more on individual improvements so I can be happy with myself? I'm not sure. We cooled down to get to 50 min

| | AM- Brianna had to do her 6 minute test so we timed her and ran half of it on the track. iT was so cold I had to go get my sweatshirt out of my car.
PM- root beer mile, lol... Me and Brianna ran together and got like 21:something but technically we were disqualified at the first can of root beer. I seriously cannot drink it for the life of me. It's so gross.. So total I probably drank about 1-1&1/2 cans... Then we had the most bonding time at sandburgs on our run. There was this jacket that they got out of the water then when we were all standing admiring it a huge bug came out of the sleeve, everyone screamed and ran away lol it was freaky. One of the best times team wise it was so fun!!!!!

| | We had old man hills today. 8x400. Not a successful workout. My Achilles really just won't feel better. I'm not sure what to do, I've been taking better care of it then I usually do. Maybe I still need to amp that up even more. I'll do it because I'm planning on qualifying for state at pv invite and that's definitely going to happen. Now I'm driving to salt lake for Easter break.

Pv invite (0.5 Miles) 00:02:29, Place overall: 4 | | PINE VIEW INVITE FINALLY. Best time of the year except we had way less people this year cause of the date change but oh well. I woke up feeling tired in my legs, we had a hard week this week, but I was determined to state qualify so I didn't let it bother me. I just stayed out of the sun and chilled all day. We warmed up around a bit and did our strides and everything else. Then we got to the line and I was seeded 4th, but it wasn't my actual fastest time but that's okay. I decided just to sick with whitney from cedar and this supposedly fast girl from skyline (except she didn't even place so it's good I didn't go with her). We got out and I felt good, I wanted a 2:20 and our first 200 was one second slow. I didn't let that bother me and I just kept going with that group. We were way slow at the 400 but my head wasn't really clear so I couldn't remember my split I wanted for that so I didn't even know lol. At about 300 to go Whitney pulled away and I think a park city girl kind of went with her. I wasn't paying enough attention to know they pulled away and so it never even crossed my mind to go with them. My finish was real good for me cause I generally lag but I passed 2 people in the last 100 so that's good. Overall it was a super duper slow race for everyone involved. No one state qualified and probably no one pr'd lol. I guess no one has that kind of speed in their legs at this point but once we get the speed workouts going we're gonna kill it. And I got a medal and that was the goal so pretty sick. I wasn't running this fast at pv invite last year and I still state qualified so I'm not worried. Overall super solid meet. We had loads of qualifiers and shoutout to rylee cause she is a complete beast.

Dhells invite (0.25 Miles) 00:00:00 | | Dhells invite was today. I only was running the 400 & the 200 in the medley. I know I know, what the actual heck. Nothing distance. Today was just the 400 and I wasn't a very fast race but I liked the way I ran it because I ran it smarter than I ever ever do. I had a bit left at the end and was able to pass people & gain on people when they were all tired. It felt good. The track meet itself was really fun even though the weather was crappy, shoutout to Eugene cause I heard his name on the loud speaker thing and then sought him out lol cool guy

| | I have no idea how far I ran today. Not very. I had the 200 in the medley which I was terrified enough for cause I'm definitely not a sprinter. Anyway so they shot the gun and Lexi was off, then she got to me and a combination of the fact that maybe she was running slower than we practiced and maybe I took off faster than we practiced made it so she had to yell to me to slow down, well I did, but I was about to pass the exchange zone and I still didn't have the baton, so I turned around and as I did she went to put it in my hand and it totally fell straight to the ground. I didn't know that even if it dropped you could still go, I thought we were disqualified... so after coach yelled at me from 100 meters away to run lol.....(my mom said we stood there for a good 15-20 seconds..) I ran my 200 and got the baton to cierra kind of. Then Rylee ran and we actually ended up 5th in 2 heats so that's pretty good. We definitely would've state qualified but life happens so maybe if we get put in it again we'll do better.

| | Today we had 6x300s at 800 pace. Really not too bad of a workout. I ran with Brianna and Ellie mostly. Hit anywhere from 53-57 mostly. My 5th one I picked up it to a 53 because I need to work on hitting a faster pace when I'm all tired but it still isn't the end. Warmed and cooled down about 20 minutes.
My current predicament that I'm in is that my coach is taking the top 24 overall (boys and girls and field and running through a point system it's kind of complicated) people on the team to Orem this weekend. I missed it by 1 point & 1 spot but someone isn't going so coach offered me the spot. I just don't know if I would rather run at snow canyon or Orem and what the benefits of it would be because my season has been so utterly crappy. I know no one reads my blog anymore cuz I never blog but if anyone happens to get on it feel free to put in advice!

Region pt 2 (1 Miles) 00:05:46, Place overall: 2 | | Last race of the season. Did the jv 1600, I warmed up actually a decent amount and I'm not very good at warming up so that was good. Then did some other stuff, I wasn't nervous at all cuz like I didn't really have any goals at this point in the season, mostly just don't suck. When the gun went off I got out decently and just stuck right on the second place girl. When we passed coach on the second lap he told me to move so I got up to the first place girl and just sat on her. When we hit the 3rd lap I decided to start moving so I tried to gap everyone which worked except one girl sat behind me. On the homestretch we were battling so hard for first and I'm actually way proud of how I stayed in it mentally. Supposedly she beat me but it was just the desert hills coach calling the shots and she was a dhells girl lol I don't really care though she probably is a lot more proud of getting first than I would've been so I'm happy for her. We ended up being .02 seconds apart. It was dope. Then I cooled down 3 miles with sage

Sprinting workouts are my kinda thing. Also we named all the words that end with the -ate sound. There's a lot. Also I got all my grades up so basically I don't have to go to school anymore

| | Back at it. .5 warm up then warm ups and all that. I brought the little brother, jacob and taught him all my ways so when senior year is over he can carry on the legacy. 30 minutes easy but it was hard, I'm so out of shape. Also I turned back with Sylvia like a minute before everyone else cause I was really worried about Jacob cause he wouldn't run with anyone, just by himself and he's literally almost blind and we were running on the road and idk, big sister instincts. He was fine though and ran almost the whole way.

| | I was late to practice today cause I had to clean out my backseat so I could give 7 people a ride in my 5 seat car lol. And there's like tons of cops on the road to practice but we didn't see any so that's good. We did 15 min out then 15 min barefoot on the baseball field then 8 striders. I'm struggling I'm so out of shape holy. Then we had kids club which was hectic. it was mostly just me cause my group members kept leaving lol. | | We eliminated the warm up lap cause coach said we're going to be getting enough miles this year we dont need it everyday. We had 40 minutes easy. Our old group was down to 2 members today, me and jacey (and Roberts of course). But swag Jessica and Macey jumped in with us. I was feeling really out of shape at the beginning but then we got about a mile into it and I was starting to feel really good actually. It was a real nice run and we ended with a nice game of four square in honor of prestons birthday. So special happy birthday shoutout to preston!!
later in the day me, Mitch, & preston went and walked like 80 MILES "looking" for the summit rock lol. We didn't find it. Then we got snow cones but I didn't get one but I ended up eating a bunch of Mitch's anyway lol

Felt like forever but I pushed myself real good. Plus I'm sooooooo sore from weights on Tuesday. s/o to Maycee Hayes for sticking with us the entire run. She's definitely gonna be giving the varsity team a run for their money this year.

We were the only level 3's there so we just ran back with the level 2's and added on. Then did 6 striders, they probably weren't the right length cause there wasn't a lot of space where we were. Oops. My body is really sore and really tight but I'm excited that I'm finally feeling like I'm back into shape!!!!

My watch broke so I didn't have a time but I took a longer way back (plus Rylee & Addi came back like 5 min after I got there & they ran 80) so I'm guessing I got about 75 minutes. Life is weird

Then for the fourth me, Brianna, Dylan, Macen, Julien, mikey, & jake m. all went to the love shack & watched all the fireworks & lit our own, it was so sick. It was a real fun night & props to me cause I was the only one who got home on time, guess I'm just responsible.

| | 90 minutes. Longest run of this year for me! Long run with 1, 1, 2, 1, 2, pickups in the middle. We ran out grapevine & up the big hill then over the top into coral canyon & down telegraph. We had to add on down to Paxman auto so we stopped for a drink (they have the deliciousest water in town). We ended with a small group, like 5 of us. It was a large mental battle today but I'm real glad I pushed through. I was really only going to go 75 but I would've had to run back past all the crows by myself and those things are scary lol. Solid run with some solid girls.
I'm really gonna try to blog the WHOLE week this week, we'll see how that goes.

AM- 25 minute tempo. I felt suprisingly good on this, my legs have been absolutely trashed this whole week but they felt way decent today. It was nice that the last 5 minutes there was only 3 of us. I need to try to have a better mindset about when teammates say stuff like "get up here" and I'm literally side by side with them, I'm doing fine worry about yourself. However I should be thinking "oh good they want me in front of them I guess". Idk, I'm wayyyyy too hard headed.

We just ran down telegraph (for the most part, we did weave into some neighborhoods) until about target then turned around. I was really struggling then we stopped at harts for some water and I was just completely refreshed and ready to run again. The last 5 minutes it was just me Ellie and Roberts cause there was almost no other level 3s there. Truly it was a nice run. I had the song London bridges by fergie stuck in my head the whole run. lol not the most appropriate song but it's so freaking funny. Also Frida was there so 3 cheers for her

I didn't do anything barefoot because ew @ that park and also my achillies has been bugging me quite a bit so I figured it wouldn't hurt to keep my shoes on. I accidentally went over about 5 minutes because I didn't account for how long it would take to get out of the park from where I was doing my strides. Also I saw LOTS of dogs so that always constitutes for a great run

Then went down 8th south and ended at my aunts house. I was gonna do striders at Liberty park again but my mom was mad because we were in a rush to go to Idaho so I didn't do them, oops. Sh*z happens.

So I just ran around the neighborhoods, got a little lost but came out okay. The last 2 days I've ran with my phone & music which is weird but I actually like it a lot. I got some gooooood music a couple days ago so I've been listening to it a lot, life is good.

That grass is brutal it's so long and thick. But the time trial came and my legs weren't ready for it. I fell continuously the first mile. Then kind of just stuck it in the last mile. The time & place were horrible but I felt decent so I don't know why I did so bad. I need to focus when racing. My mind wanders and I just settle.

I found Sylvia & Seanne on the way back & we were cruisin but I was just really enjoying running with them. I might run with them more often, they're very fun.

| | 60 minutes. We had a workout of 2(3x80 sec) hill repeats. We ran down this long hill for 15 minutes then did our workout then ran back up it. I felt so amazing today. Every single one I was out front leading. I made a goal to chill behind everyone until we passed under this tree arch thing then just go all to the wall. Before the 5th one Roberts told me to drive my knees and that helped ample amounts. My goal was to just keep getting farther on every one & I did except the last one but I wasn't upset. It felt so good. On the way back up the hill I kept having to stop to stretch my calves because they were so so tight. & that's the first workout I've ever actually believed that I was gonna pass out after. Oh man it was a good feeling.
Camp overall was the best ever. I really bonded with a lot of people that I've just been decent friends with & I became really good friends with people I thought I didn't like lol. I'm gonna miss it so much next year but I'm ready to kill this season & actually be a contributor to my team.

| | First day of senior year, oh yes.
50 minutes. 15 warm, 5 strides, 2(3x60sec) hills, cool back to high school. We did old man hills. I struggled on the striders. I didn't drink one ounce of water today & coach freaked us out at the beginning of practice about heat stroke & everything so I was scared lol. Once we got through the striders we started the hills & I was struggling to keep up with the pack. Then after we did 2 for some reason I started leading & really pushing myself. Hills are so easy probably cause I have long legs. The last couple we were just trying to pack and that was fun. We stole some water from someone hose & shade from their tree. Then a run back. A nice day overall.
Another thing! I got a letter from Preston today! It was so nice, it was from his very first week in the MTC & we've been emailing so it's cool to read his emails now & see how well he's doing compared to how he was doing at the beginning.

| | 11.5 miles straight up pine valley mountain. Probably the best/funnest thing I have ever done. I was real scared going into it. But once we got going it was so fun. We took a break at 2 miles into it & ate some gu (ew) & after that I just felt so refreshed and strong for the whole rest of the time. on the way down I was mostly with jacey & Maycee. The last mile was forever long hahaha. Renegade camp was the best thing ever & im SO sore now lol

My last couple weeks of practice have been off the charts amazing for me. I just need to transition that into racing. which is easier said than done

At one point I kinda felt like I was starting to black out so I stopped & sat on the ground, then I got back up cut across the field & finished it out. At the end I couldn't breathe & was shaking super bad but coach came over & calmed me down, I probably just freaked myself out. Today was most definitely not a bad workout.

Murray invite (3 Miles) 00:19:00, Place overall: 12 | | MURRAY!!!! Wow what an awesome course/race. About an hour before the race me & Brianna were running around cheering & she frikkin sprained her ankle. So that made it so she couldn't race with me which was a huge bummer. There were 2 open races & I was in the second one so I warmed up alone (mostly looking for the varsity girls on their cool down, turns out they were receiving their 3RD PLACE AWARD) then I went and put on my spikes & went to the start. I got out really good & all on the top part of the course I just chilled behind like 3 girls. Then when we turned the corner to go down the big hill I surged ahead and took the lead. I didn't know where I was going so I got lost a couple times but found my way back. I felt really really strong all throughout the race, after going up then back down the huge hill I was so tired but I kept my steps short and quick then went up the super big ending hill and that one killed me too. But I kept it going & ended up 1st in my race (12th overall cuz Davis & AF). I was very pleased with my time because I thought I got 19:05 but the results had me at 19:00. I really wish I would've got under 19 but I'm super duper happy about this race & I know it's cause my training is finally paying off and I'm finally getting out of this plateau I've been in for what feels like forever. Wow I'm just so happy rn

On the last 3 I really impressed myself. It just goes to show that even being tired, my legs like to run fast. Then the girls were just kinda talking so I went & cooled down by myself mostly for about 10 min.

Ran like that for a while then Brianna came up & I stuck with her for a while then she started to gap me. Ended 2nd behind her, I'm sure as heck happy it was her that beat me.
What a season. Some serious trials but I'm happy with what went on. I've grown more as a person this season than i think anyone could've imagined. Wish I could be lacing up for one final season race this next week but I seriously have so much faith in these girls, they're gonna do great things.
