Good news I got bribed into blogging again!! Had the Dixie invite today & I ran the 400. I just tried to take quick steps cause that's what coach was yelling the whole darn time & I think it helped. SO excited for the 800 tomorrow. & I don't even know what the heck my total miles was so I didn't put anything. The end.

AM- easy 30 with jushbush & el bel. Honestly, I don't know how I got friends with such weird names.

PM- 3x1000s with 2x300. We only did 10 minutes warm cause we didn't know we had 60 minutes instead of 45... But we got back on the track and had a solid 3 thousands. I didn't hit my times but I improved every one & thought it each one was a really good push. The 300s were rough, per the norm, my times were 53 & 52 I think. 20 minutes cool with Josie & we got delicious ice at harts.

AM- just 30 easy with josie & carli.

PM- 1 mile warm with 8x200 (decreasing recovery) and like 1.5 cool. These were hard for me to try & be mentally strong cause the last 100 I always wanna give up but I think I pushed pretty hard. Every one was in the 32-35 range which is right where I wanted to be so that's good. Running with meskerem on these is hard cause she's so speedy at sprinting, but it was a solid workout I think.

AM- 30 easy & we went very slow because all of our legs were very tired that's why.

PM- 50 easy with striders. We also went quite slow on this one & we took a little break in the middle of it to walk up the river & cover caroline in paintballs. Definitely one of the funniest runs of the year. I really just love our team a lot.

ps- props to God for making this earth a pretty cool place. HAPPY EARTH DAY

AM- morning workout. 1.5 mile warm to harts then we got back & did the coe workout it was actually real fun. My times were faster on the last ones cause of my 400 so I had to really push it with jacey (cause meskerem wasn't there) but still it was a good workout & I felt really good! 1 mile cool.

PM- 30 easy with 4x200. We did masterblasters & my team won.

Also I'm now holding tryouts for a new best friend cause preston isn't doing his job good. THe end.

Didn't have a race on Friday cause the 200 got cancelled cause of lightning so I had the 800, 200, & 4x400 on Saturday except for coach said I didn't have to do the 200 (hallelujah) & then after my 800 all the other 4x400 girls said they weren't down to do it & I was perfectly fine with that. For the 800 I just wanted to state qualify & I hit the first 200 perfect at :34. The second 200 I was one second slow at 1:10. The third 200 I was 2 seconds slow at 1:47 & I ended up with a 2:26. I was pretty disappointed cause I've just hit this big plateau in my running & it's super frustrating. I know I can qualify, my pr is only 1 second off I just need to figure out what the heck my problem is & fix it. Overall it was a pretty good day except for I hate wind & cold so that sucks. Hoping to kill it at herriman next week & qualify maybe even break the school record!

AM- 20 easy. We went faster than usual & it felt great.

PM- 1.5 warm then kosmin test. I was feeling pretty confident before this because I know I've improved a lot this year & my last time was so asinine (haha) that I was guaranteed a pretty good improvement. We started out & I just stuck with Alli B. She's so fast. But we went together & got like 350-360 meters then had our 3 minute cool & ended with 715. I felt really solid about this because it's over 60 meters improvement I think. After we had a 300, 200, & 100 a little faster than race pace & it was pretty solid. cooled to time.

AM- 20 easy

PM- 40 easy with 4x200. Firestation loop backwards. We started out at about 8:30 pace & by harts I was dead. My legs weren't moving & I wanted to be done. While we were waiting at the light I started thinking how crappy this run was gonna be & that I might fall off the pack. When I started thinking that I decided that I wanted to lead this run & started thinking about qualifying at herriman & how having that attitude wasn't going to help me. When the light turned I just decided that I was gonna run with Ryan whatever pace he was going. As soon as I started to have a good attitude I started running way better & I felt so good! The rest of the run was about a 7:30 pace & me and Josie were both feeling so good. I think today was a really good demonstration for me of how important it is to have a solid mindset in your running. I CANNOT WAIT FOR HERRIMAN

PM- 10 warm with 600 at goal 800 pace with a 300, 200, & 100 (except I didn't do the 100 because of handoffs for the 4x100) I wanted 1:45 but I got 1:51 which I'm gonna blame a couple seconds on my crappy start but still not what I wanted. I know I can get that time though if I get myself mentally ready. Really really hoping that I can qualify for state because this is my last chance. Just gonna leave it all out there. No morning run cause I'm a dumb...

PM- REGION. I had the 4x100, 800, & 4x400. I warmed up for the 4x100 went over to the starting line then ran to the 200 mark to start. I was so nervous... But not to worry! After the first leg Amber & Lexi accidentally dropped the baton so good news I did not have to run! Then I just waited for the 800 & ran around a lot in between. It was a good time. When the 800 came I had a whole plan in my head & knew all my splits that would get me to state qualifying. They shot the gun & I was just focusing on the first 200. I hit that one a little slow at 35 which surprised me cause I expected everyone to start out really fast. When we hit the 400 mark we were at 1:12 which is 3 seconds slow & I knew then that time was no longer an option & I would have to get top 4. I started really trying to push it & jacey came up with me at that point & we pushed together. I let go of her at the 100 but I knew I had to keep pushing or else they were gonna pass me so I just gave it all I had & barely beat the girl for 4th place. STATE QUALIFIED. I was almost crying. Seriously the best feeling. Then we had the 4x400 & there was lightning so they were hurrying everything & we got 3rd in that so another state qualifying thing! I'm seriously the pumpedest person for state!!! (Also I found out today in running the medley at state.)

Just 30 easy. I had drivers ed at 8 but really wanted to be out for the first day of practice so I ran before then went & did warm ups with the team. I started out around the neighborhoods but then decided to go out to the desert. Saw a sick sunrise & just thought in my brain about how crazy real God is. Finished up & realized I was supposed to be leaving for practice so I was late.. Oops. Then finished off the day at gross drivers ed. But hey I'm super pumped for this season and our team and I can't wait for the first run of the season I get to run with my teamsters

Also, I have an annoying amount of water in my ear & may have damaged my hearing/given myself brain damage trying to get it out so if anyone has an suggestions they're very welcome

3 miles grass run w/ striders. Again I had drivers ed so bleh. But woke up at 5:45 this morning so I wasn't late to practice!! And I started out just ran to the park (2ish minutes?) then started my grass run and since green springs park is rather small & half of it was being sprinkled I had a little portion of the park I ran around for 15 minutes, then did my striders. All was very well & I started running again around the outside of the park and I GOT ATTACKED BY A BIRD it landed on my head and I've been terrified of them since I got tortured by one when I was 2 so that was the most frightening experience of my life I actually wanted to cry. Finished & went to practice and ran the warm up then left again hahah

UPDATE: the water is still in my ear and it sounds like a freakin ocean in there.

Holy smacks hardest run of my life. I haven't been able to sleep in past 6 this entire week so I decided I was just gonna run whenever I woke up because I'm a dingus. And then, when I woke up my parents were like lets go bowling! and I was like well frick. (I got a new pr of 115 though so that was cool). So I didn't end up running til 3. It was burning hot. I just ran down gs drive & did my fartleks on that. The run was 35 min with 3x3 min fartleks with 3 min recovery. The first one I pushed really hard and was like dead by the time I finished hah. I slowed it down a bit on the other 2. They were all really hard pushes though. I thought I was dying on the way back like my lungs did that weird thing where they don't expand when you breathe in so haha that was a problem. But I lived and returned to my home.

another update cause I know you guys love those: I've just gotten used to the fact that I can't hear out of my left ear but people keep talking right into it so I would prefer to not have water in it anymore. It's been 6 days!!!!

Total Distance

Today we had 45 minutes with 3 laps around the dirt mile at with faster pace each one. This was like the hardest run. The last half of the last lap I really wanted to quit but I'm glad at myself cause I stayed in there and pushed better than I usually do. I really want to work on my mentality this season especially this summer because I'm gonna need it if I want to still be varsity. What I've really been focusing on (I'm not sure if it's good or bad that I'm pushing myself for this) but I really want to be varsity for bob firman. If I get left out of that because I didn't work hard enough I will be pi*sed I just know it so every run so far when things get tough I've been trying to think about how sad I would be if I didn't get to go and that usually snaps me back into working hard. On the way back we found some cute disgusting little ponds & jacey fell in. Holt ran with us which was different but good. Although I couldn't hear him most the time cause he was always on my left side and I was too scared to tell him I really couldn't hear a word he was saying. Altogether is really was a super fun, good run.

also shoutout to presto cause it's his birthday!!

TOP OF ZION HALF RELAY okay okay okay it was extremely fun. we had to wake up at 1 am to start our running so we had 3 hours of sleep hahaha. We ran in pairs cause we had 2 teams and running at night was actually the scariest thing I thought I was gonna get kidnapped the entire time. I ran with Josie and we were the 2nd leg. We had 6.5 miles straight uphill the entire time. It was so hard hahah. We ran at like 2 and finished at about 3ish and let me tell ya that was the scariest run. So then everyone else ran and then me and bos had to run again this time only 5 miles with a little uphill and some downhill. It wasn't bad. THEN everyone else ran then we ran again only we had to run 7.5 miles pretty much completely downhill which would have been the easiest run ever but we were so dang tired. Although we did run between a 6:50-7:10 pace the entire time so yay for us. We got 2nd overall and it was a lovely trip!

Dirt mile again today. Sure feel like we do that guy a lot. It wasn't bad though we had 4 laps at progressively faster pace. Our first mile was a 8ish minute I think. Then down to 7:50, 7:40, and like 6:55 or something... Roberts kept telling us to slow down hahaha it was hard work though. I was going to stop after the 3rd mile because my legs were still feeling very tired from top of Zion (or at least that's what my excuse was gonna be) then I just kept running which I'm glad I did because that was the hardest lap by far. The dirt mile has always been like a really hard mental battle for me maybe that's why I do not like it but I'm working on my positivity at that place.

Ps all PV kids plz appreciate you schedules and all the fri*kin papers in the envelope cause it takes years to put them in<3

no one was at practice today cause of trek hahah we ran up the desert place by where the dead turtle was. On the warm up my knee was bugging me but I thought it was just like beginning running pains cause it usually hurts a teeny bit at the beginning of runs but it was totally killing me during the run I turned around at 15 instead of 17 and ran 30. Rylee turned around with me which I was super grateful for so I didn't have to run on my own. I only did 4 striders also. I iced my knee afterwards and its weird cause all my life I've never had knee pain but it'll be better tomorrow for sure

Total Distance
6.50

We only had 5 girls there today so we all ran together!!!! It was a really good run and I had no knee pain! A tiny bit of achillies pain but I think that's just cause I haven't been doing what I should so I'll start icing again. Anyway 60 minutes mid-distance run we did the loop off hells hole not sure what it's called and it was fun running with different girls they really need to run with us more often!

Dirt mile progression run. Really wasn't in there mentally today. I only did 3 miles instead of 4 cause I just couldn't stick with the group. We did like 8 minute pace the first lap then 7:50 then 7:40. Finished up running back with rylee then striders. Personally I really like doing the striders on harder days, it makes the recovery days that much better.

Good news is I'm going to the doctor on July 15 to figure out my ear dilemma and maybe I'll be able to hear again yay

Some of the team met over at my home to do our run today. It was 45 min w/ 4x3:00 fartleks. We ran out into mustang pass which is one of my favoritest runs (even though I spent a good 14 years of my life hating it) we started our first one at 15 minutes and when we finished everyone except me and jos turned around cause they only had 35 total. So me and josie just switched off leading them every other. They felt good, 3 minutes is a long time. On our way back we stopped at the park and ran through the splash pad which is the best decision I've made in my life because it was very hot! Actually it was only like 90 but it felt hot

The only way that is lasting this long is that you aren't taking care of it like you should. How do I know? Because as soon as I took care of mine, it made drastic improvements. So think about the times that you start getting it better and ask yourself what did you do for it then... Now do all of those things everyday, twice a day, more than that... You are doing too well for this to mess up your season. And, without a doubt, your season will be made or broken during this summer.

4 mile progression on the dirt mile. Holt-o ran with us today which was a different thing. Also he yelled really loud at the boys which was not a different thing. The first lap was a little faster than 8 minute pace then I got up and led for like lap 2 & 3 which were 7:50 & 7:40. Then I fell back a bit on the last lap which was sub 7. I seriously thought I was gonna throw up the last lap cause I made the mistake of eating yogurt before the run so that was gross. On the striders my legs were so tired so I only did 6. Also I read the book roberts gave us and took a nap.

Also countdown to my birthday: 29 days

am- 45 easy. Actually not easy. My legs were really tired. I'd say this was one of our worst runs as a team. No one ran together and it was just blah. Whatever, tomorrow will be great

pm- 20 easy. Went about 8:50 pace and found a nice little loop around my neighborhood. Macey & Irene were at gs park as I ran by so I went and said hi. It was about 101°. So honestly I'm not complaining cause it could've been a lot hotter.

Warmed up for the race. We got to the starting line and rylee said we should stick it together for the first 2 miles then go on our own and me and Sylvia said alright. We started out and weren't going too fast. We were in 2nd and just kind of chilling behind this lady. We ran up this one road and saw a turtle that was completely smashed it was gross. When we got to mile 2 we decided we probably shouldn't split up haha. But Sylvia fell back about at this time and me and rylee passed the lady at like 2.5. When we were about at like 3 miles we saw the boys team running around and they started yelling at us asking who was gonna be first so we both just started booking it. We ended literally within milliseconds of each other but the people said I was first probably cuz I'm cuter. Then cooled down to probably about 5 miles.

Time trial 1. I think we were just focusing on pushing hard as a pack and no matter what I told everyone, I was completely nervous as I've ever been. I forgot I was supposed to lead with meskerem the second mile not the first so I took it out fast with Josie and Jacey. By the time the second mile came along meskerem started pushing it and the pack started to spread and I couldn't hang on. I ended 6th (without rylee there so probably 7th) with a 13:08. I've always known there was gonna be big competition this year for varsity. But it's never seemed so real to me. I really need to step it up and work my hardest always. We finished up with some hill repeats and striders which were both good.

PM- easy 30 with josie through neon spider. It was actually completely terrifying without the rest of the team. But it was good to just run with jos. Also I'm very excited for the team party tonight it's gonna be delicious pizza

I didn't get a chance to talk to you guys, so I will tomorrow. But, you held in there pretty strong. I really think that if you learn to hold on that first mile, the rest of the race will really come to you - you are a very strong fighter when you have the goal in sight. So it is so important to use these first time trials, races, tempo/workouts to teach yourself the right way to race. Yes, it will be tough to hold that var spot. But when you guys all use it in a positive way, it will drive all of you individually and as a team to stuff you can't even imagine! I have faith in you...

AM- easy 40 around temple quarry. There was some scary lightning like right next to us. And it rained really hard so we stood in it for a long time. Also RYLEE IS BACK YAY. Currently trying to convince her to get a blog. Now we're going up to Brian head which will be fun the end.

PM- went to Navajo lake and ran then jumped in. It was freezing but I got my hair wet because the boys were being dumb. Also we went to mammoth caves and wrote our family on the back of coach's car. I was married to paul. He was a decent husband

Total Distance

The literal best run of my life. We had 65 minutes plus 18 tempo and we drove to this huge hill so we did the tempo down the hill haha. We were planning on turning around at 37:30 to account for the tempo and the hill but we got to the summit at 30 minutes so we just tempoed down it and ran on the road for 15 minutes. Me, Josie, Jacey, Ellie and Sylvia were the only ones who made it to the top but it was super pretty and very very windy. On the way up the hill I figured out how to turn my brain off and it helped so much. We packed so good and I just get more and more excited for the season with every run. First race Tuesday!!!!!!

Total Distance

AM- long run with quick finish, striders and weights. I felt super good during this run but only did 4 striders afterwards cause my legs were completely beat. Hurried home and went on a sick date with hell raiser.

PM- 3 miles onto mustang pass. My legs were still completely tired and I felt kinda sick but I got out and it was a quick run

AM- easy grass run. Not a good day at practice. pvxc as a whole needs to step up its game

PM- warmed up around the course and cheered for the youngsters I was feeling sickish but it went away when we started racing. Got to the starting line and our entire team got an awful start. We got trapped behind hurricane but we worked as a pack up to the front and led the entire race. I started to fall off like the middle of lap 2 but I stayed that same distance behind them the whole time instead of falling back farther. I wish I would've beat laynee cause she was right there but I'm crazy proud of our team. We were 1 place off of a perfect score and had a 30-something second spread between 1st and 7th. I didn't do striders afterwards because I was feeling incredibly sick and about to throw up. Amazing day this season is going to be unbelieveable

Total Distance

AM- supposed to have 45 minutes with long hills but I only did 30. I'm still not feeling good from yesterday so I did one hill then ran back with seanne. I'm going to try to rest up so I can make it to afternoon run. School starts tomorrow and I still have 100 pages of Fahrenheit 51 to read soo it's not going to be a fun day...

PM- easy to artic circle. It felt good today like 97 degrees or something. 52 pages left if I had a year I would read 1 page per week but actually I only have like 13 hours so I have to read 4 pages an hour except I wanna sleep so I have to read 10.4 pages an hour which isn't bad but I really don't wanna go to school tomorrow

AM- 39 easy with josie and meskerem before we had a to go to school. Still haven't finished that book but not to worry cuz we didn't take our test today. also I'm going to fail math this year dang it

PM- 40, probably my worst run of the year. My legs were tired plus it was hotter than it has been in a while like 107? anyway not a good run but I'm way excited for relays tomorrow it's gonna be sick. Ps does anyone wanna be my sponsor please??

Total Distance
5.50

AM- ran 30 minutes with the boys. I really shouldn't have (and coach made sure I knew that hahaha) because i haven't been feeling good lately and we had a race type-ish thing today. But it hurt when I ran slow and it felt SO GOOD to run with them. Although they're quite boring. They like didn't even talk.

PM- like 1.5 miles?? Maybe? We had desert relays today with dhells but it got lightninged out before I got to race or do any workout so all I did was warm up. Quality night with my fav girls afterwards though.

45 min with 5x4 minute fartleks. Went high 6 and low 7 minute pace for the fartleks (except the 4th one which was just awful all the way around). It felt way good. I didn't go til 8:30ish for whatever reason so when I got done it was quite dark. I saw Irene and possibly nick I wasn't sure if it was him and also some other people I'm sure I knew, they honked but I didn't get a good look. I started my run at nisson park cuz running in green springs gets old. So I just ran fire station backwards then extended to Washington elementary and looped around. finished through some wonderful sprinklers.

Warmed up, cheered for jv, had like a 10 minute delay at the starting line, then got racing. I stuck in the pack the first lap and beginning of 2nd. But started to fall off and didn't have a drive to get back up to the pack. I don't know what's wrong with me. Pushed my finish decently, because shawnee shimbeckwas right with me. My dad wants to start doing mental training stuff with me a couple nights a week. I think that's a good idea because I'm physically capable but my brain apparently doesn't know that. Anyway, decent race. I'll be racing jv next race which will be a fun experience, I've never raced it before and I do better in front. For now I'm  just excited for the team party tonight

PM- long run w 2(1,2 min) pickups and striders and weights. Tough run but it felt awesome. I started out with a bit of a negative attitude then decided it was going to be a good run and it just went uphill from there! It felt way better than last week, probably cause it wasn't hot as Haiti this time around, like 104 or something. Maycee H killed it!!! She was with us the whole time. PM- TIME TRIAL #2. On the way over there Paul figured out we had a 14, 15, 16, & a 17 year old in our car it was so cool! We got there warmed up and cheered for the youngsters. We started out and I got out leading the pack. I felt so good so so good. The first time we went on the back stretch I felt like we started to slow so I surged a bit and the team came with me which made me feel way strong. We started to go up the top of the park and coach said we had to have someone push ahead up the gradual hill so we wouldn't slow so I responded to that and pushed the team up the hill. That's the part in taking away from this race. I felt so strong to be able to pull the team up the hardest part of the course. When we started going up after the bottom of the course I started to fall behind the pack and caroline went behind me and told me that I had to pull her up to the pack and it felt SO awesome to have her there for me. we spread out more at the ending and I ended 6th, which is fine, I was going for 5th but I'm really proud of the way we finished strong. It really felt like such a strong team oriented race. I'm so proud to be on such an amazing team. Finished it out with a 2x800m workout and cooled to time.

Then I just had a hardcore talk with my dad about work then running and all the stuff I gotta do mentally to prepare and he told me how proud he was of me this year and it was just a super sick talk to have before my 2nd (but pretty much 1st) day of work tomorrow

PM- SANDHILLS!!! (aka one hill of a workout) I love sandhills so much. I had 5x1 min up the hill then recovery back down (all the other girls had 4x1 cause Josie and meskerem were not there). I led all of them but we still packed pretty good i think and on all the other girls' last one Caroline yelled, let's keep up with Alli! and that helped me so much as well as her we finished way close to each other and the last one I ran with Julien and mikey and evan and Ryan and roberts. I felt a little sickish after them but it was fine. I think my body is just getting really tired from our hard week last week and this week so I'm super excited for our recovery next week. Also me and rylee invented a game and it is called the spinning game and you spin like a thousand times it's really cool. Also me Josie Irene seanne sasha and destiny played truth or dare and me Josie Sylvia julien and rylee played throw the football which is a fun game. I was one of the few who didn't sleep at all! I hit my first wall at about 11 then got my second wind then hit another wall about 1:30 and another wall at like 4:30 and that one was the hardest to keep going after because I had to leave and go to work. I worked with this kid I've never met, his name is britton and he looks like an elf. I prefer working with jackson cause he's who I always work with but it was fine. Currently I am not tired at all actually. Almost to 30 hours of no sleep and I really am not feeling it but I am laying on my bed and hopefully I will fall asleep.

TIME TRIAL #3 so I'm still extremely butthurt (pun cred to preston) and it hurt alllll day today, but only hurt probably the first .25 of the race so that was fabulous. Started out and I was just up there but from almost the very beginning I was thinking negative. Then I started to say "if you can't push here you aren't going to push at Murray and that's where it really counts" which really helped me a lot. I visualized a lot on this course cause that's always just what comes to mind so that probably helped too. We were a lot more spread out as a pack today... Caroline was injured and Rylee did amazing so it was kinda mixed up. At the last stretch I was a little behind Jacey and Ellie (in 6th place) and I just sat there then thought that I'd worked this hard and I didn't wanna just sit anymore so I kicked it in and me and Jacey pushed together until the end, she got me by .2 but it felt wayy better to push that ending. I ended up 5th with 12:39 so not a good time but we were all a little bit slower. Then we did 4x400s at 5k race pace and cooled down for the rest of our time. Hard day but fun. Also I drove miles, evan, cooper and mikey over to the course and they were seriously cracking me up talking about coming out of the closet and stuff like that they're probably my favorites not gonna lie

PM- crazy starting to the run coach Roberts collapsed waiting for a light and his eyes were rolled back in his head and he was seizing and they called the ambulance but they didn't come and it was really scary. He was okay though do not worry. We ran up into washington down into green springs by my home and up around. We got attacked by the weather during one of our fartleks (we had 2 sets of 1,2 min with 4 recovery) it started pouring and blowing dirt. The rest of the run was good. It felt AMAZING outside the bank said it was 91 and like half the time there was a decent cloud cover ah it was perfect. Also striders and weights. Seriously I'm getting so buff I work so fri*kin hard in the weight room

AM- we could not go to arctic circle because there was a guy with a gun that pointed his gun at dallen!!! So we ran green springs which is where I live(: and it was a fun fun time

PM- after ditching seminary I locked my keys in my car (these are the consequences people) and couldn't leave until my mom took me home. It was a hard day I'm glad it's over. Had a good run barefoot on the grass though and now I'm ready to catch up on crazy amounts of homework, here we go. Side note- my mom keeps making cookies and brownies we have about 13hundred batches at my house right now and I'm really enjoying it.

PM- sandhills my favorite workout ever. On the run over there I could feel that my legs were pretty tired but I was sure it was still gonna be a great workout. I led the whole time but I could definitely feel my teammates behind me pushing me. I made it farther than I ever have on all of them. To the top on almost all of them. My last one wasn't as strong as I would have liked, by the ending I was not pushing very hard. I was definitely tired on all of them and I feel a bit sickish I think I need more sleep. But a good workout all around and I was happy with our teamwork today!!

AM- back to arctic circle. Carolines main goal was to get us back to the school without getting shot. I gotta say I was laughing really hard

PM- easy prerace even though we don't have a race tomorrow! We ran sandburgs then 4x200s after but I only did 2. My achillies was hurting this morning and started up again so I did one, sat out one, did another one and decided I was done. Really going to roll out, ice, and visualize tonight! After practice me josie anna dallen and mitch met at Josies house and did math homework (very successfully, I did the most and I did 4 problems...) and had cookies then we went and visited macey at work! Now I have to retake the apush test I didn't pass and hopefully pass this one.

Canyon View invite, instead of racing coach had the varsity run over to our region course as a warm up then do our workout there and cool down back. We had 2 sets of 1,2,3 min at region race pace. The team packed way way good. I kept falling off on the 3 min ones but I came back and it turned out to be a good workout. Our top 7 JV girls ran in the varsity race and THEY TOOK FIRST. All 5 scorers in the top 10. That was the only race we got to watch but it was so unbelievably cool. I love love love our team and the awards ceremony was so fun to watch and I am just so impressed with everyone. Also we are having a scary movie night and I am very excited

AM- small crowd but good run and my legs were so so so so tired holy moly

PM- 4x1000 plus wave hills at the middle school. Ran over there and got started on our first one. Didn't feel amazing and my achillies hurt. I stuck in the pack but didn't feel good at all. 2nd on came and I fell off the pack like a ton. Wasn't mentally in it. Was sick of my achillies and wanted to be done. Coach talked to us after this one (I had already decided I wasn't doing the next one) and he talked about making the big jump and how we could all go with it. I decided I wanted that jump so bad so I did the next one and got out fast. I was way ahead of the pack and they kept telling me to chill but I already had it in my brain how this one was gonna go. I pushed up hard the hills despite my achillies pain and finished fast and strong. I felt so good mentally. The next one I got out fast again but Jacey Rylee and Josie caught me and kicked harder at the end. I still felt good during it but afterwards my achillies was on fire. I only did the downhill part of the wave hills and did 5 instead of 3. They felt good and strong and I am so ready for bob firman.

Bob firman. Wow I've be waiting for this for a long time and individually it was definitely not how I imagined it. We did about 1.5 warm then got over to the starting line. We had a good spot and nobody next to us so lots of room to move. The gun went off and I got a great start. Our whole team was up with the front pack and I kept telling myself that's exactly where I wanted to be. I don't even know what happened after. About around the beach part on the first lap was when I started losing it. Ellie passed me on the beach part on the second lap and I really really wish I would've gone with her. I keep losing the mental battle and I just got to get that fixed. We ended up 5th as a team winning the tiebreaker! I'm so proud of my team and how good they did. Also meskerem totally rocked it and got 20th!

Overall it was a super sick trip and I'm way glad I went. I'm going to work day in & day out on how to be a better runner. Maybe google it or something

AM- easy 30. My legs were dead so so dead.

PM- 15 min warm 3xmile repeats with an all out 200 and cool down to time. We had the repeats at goal race pace for region (6:15) then for the first one we were supposed to hit 10 sec faster than that (6:05), the second one was supposed to be 15 sec slower than our race pace (6:30) and the last one was 5 seconds faster than race pace (6:10). My first one I got out fast and led the pack strong for the whole one pretty much, but my shins were hurting a lot. I think it was about 6:06ish. The second one I got out strong and led with rylee for the most part and ended in the pack with probably 6:28? The last one I was trying everything to just stay in there. I have no idea what my time ended with. I didn't stay with the pack. On the last lap I came back and finished good and strong but I CANNOT lose the pack when I'm tired. Coach says I just need to believe in myself and I suppose that's true I just don't know where to start. The 200 was very strong for me and me and Jacey fought for it good. Good workout overall. I need to work on that last mile a ton. Maybe start always picking it up at the end of runs/workouts, even easy runs. I'll work on it. But I think it was good because my shins were hurting lots and I wanted to take one off after every one but I kept in there and I'm glad I did. That's one step forward

Then we did a little more warm up in the school and got out there. I led the first 2 laps with caroline then starting the third lap josie went crazy and started killing it. AM- easy before state

PM- state. wow. We started and warned up and got to the starting line. I got out good and pushed good. Around the pond Caroline passed me and had I stuck with her, it would've made all the difference. It was an okay race for how my seasons been going. I had a good kick. When we finished my card (I was our 7th runner) said we got 1st and it said we got first on runnercard. We were crying and hugging and were so happy. Even writing this it makes me want to cry thinking how happy we were. After they awarded the top 10 medals they didn't award team trophies and we found out (3 hours later) that they had disqualified a stansbury girl for running outside the course but then they decided to requalify her, putting us in 2nd. Then we found out they disqualified a park city girl (making us and stansbury tied but our 6th girl was faster so we would have won). after 3 hours they finally decided to award the team awards and tbey gave stansbury the 1st place and us 2nd. It was heartbreaking. I cried for at least an hour. We know that none of us had our best races, but we still thought we had it. This was the hardest thing I've faced. I cried every time I thought about them taking home that trophy and them cheering when they announced their names and then being able to think about theirs races and not having to pick apart everything they could've done better. I'm past the crying part now, I'm just mad about everything. One of the worst parts is that our school was actually paying attention to XC for the first time ever and they were totally hyped for us. I stayed up for 2 hours that night and as of right now, I think I can speak for my whole team when saying this, we are going to work our butts off. I can assure you that I am going to prove that I want it more than anyone else, and that I'm willing to go through any amount of pain to get it. I'm hungry for NXR and I know my team is as well. I only have 1&1/2 years of high school running left and I'm going to enjoy every step. We will win state next year. And we will do extremely well at NXR. We're gonna go show everyone what we're made of and how incredibly amazing we are. I refuse to go through this kind of thing again. I'm forever going to be upset by the outcome of things, that's just the way it is, but I'm going to use that anger to push me and my team to new heights. After Nike, there will be no doubt in anyone's mind that pine view deserved that state title. So there's that, no one read this monster of a blog post but I needed to get my goals out there and to make sure I know and remember them always. Here's to a great month of training and a phenomenal race at NXR.

I read it and I hear ya... Unbelievably, the pain will subside, but what you must carry with you is the goals and the drive. Someday you won't want to get up for morning practice or maybe that final repeat will be tough or maybe it'll be easy to slack on that achilles or it'll be easy to pack in a tired race. But then, then is when it will matter most what you learned here today.

You are great, thanks for all you have and will keep doing for the team.

PM- we did 2(2x1000, 400) with an all out 100 at the beginning and end. The 100s and 400s were just hard and all out we didn't have a time for them, but my 1000s we were supposed to hit 3:55 and we hit 3:50, :52, :47, :47. However most of us had season prs and I was one of those people. 19:39 and 6th (Caroline dropped out at lap 2) I talked to coach after about the fact that I have to focus or else I fade. This race felt really beneficial to show myself what I can do. I should have had a stronger finish because I was right behind jacey and I could have got with her. Dream mile in the afternoon!! I was feeling decent going into this, wasn't crazy looking forward to it but wasn't dreading it. It was way cold and windy so that made me wish it was a different day. We warmed up 2. We ran the track backwards so the wind wouldn't be as bad (coach is a wind expert) and we started at the 100 so it'd be the same but we turned right instead of left. We started out as a pack and everything. I was feeling pretty good, as good as I've felt all season. As we were finishing our second lap holt said "Alli you've got to focus are you focused?" And that totally got me in the right mindset, I thought I was focused before but that seriously just clicked and as Ellie passed me I went and got with her. If I'm completely honest with myself I haven't had actual fun in a race all season, racing just wasn't fun anymore, but this race was fun. I actually enjoyed pushing myself during the race. I know I've got my drive back, and I have never been more excited for a race as I am for Nike. I ended 6th on the team instead of my 7-8th spot that I've been maintaining all season. I just tried to stick with Laynee W from dhells cause I knew she was gonna go the pace I wanted to start with. Despite my efforts I passed her and kind of went faster than I wanted. The switchbacks were good. Laynee got with me again on them and we pushed over the hill. I passed tons of people on the downhills, I think the downhills was the reason I was able to get top 48 which was my goal, to get a medal. But I felt way solid on all the downhills so that's good. Poop out hill was good too and the back side of the course was kind of tough and it went on forever. Going on the downside of reservoir hill I lost control and really thought I was gonna fall but I passed like 7 people so that was way good. I just pushed it in and finished 30th overall. and I had a great time. This was the funnest race and I'm glad I was able to end good. BUT I AM SO PUMPED FOR TRACK SEASON!!!!!
