| | 320pm- 85 minuter today in some gorgeous weather, 50 degrees and overcast with slight rain. pretty easy considering it was our longest run in quite a while. felt good except a little hamstring tightness near the end. stretched after for a bit. core after and plyos. i was meaning to do plyos pretty hard through the break but starting up running had me tight so I put it off. figured i better start now at least so I can see some more strength during outdoor season.

| | ran kentucky lucky chicken trail with my dad and mom. it was really short so I said I was gonna run down to the dixie center on the river trail to finish my run so then instead of that me and my dad just ran the trail backwards and tried to find a trail that went down to the bike trail and it turned into a adventure run and we just ended at a parking lot. we saw the leaders of the half marathon and they were hauling, like way in front of everybody else. also saw where dr j probably lives

| | 730am- suicidal tendencies this morning with the boys. stretched consistently over the weekend. good run no problems. core and plyos after. im getting used to my short plyos routine 3x(7x lunge jumps left leg + 7 right legs +7 squat jumps) in the next couple weeks im going to add some bounders and some other stuff. plus we will be getting in to weights on tuesdays and thursdays. let me know if anybody has suggestions for effective plyo stuff

| | 615am- weights. woke up and felt really crappy this morning but still got to practice. there is too much people in there. nothing was open so i went to the bathroom and when i got back most people were just standing around so it didnt take too long for a bar to open up. didnt run i didnt feel good.

Dogtown Half Marathon 2018 (13.109 Miles) 01:17:00, Place overall: 1 | | thursday and friday i didnt run because of pain in my anterior tibialis tendon and also I had state deca so I was pretty busy. We got back on friday at 11 so I didnt get much sleep. I was unsure about running the half but i figured my shin was feeling alright and might as well. I was expecting a couple of the boys to be there but I was all alone. It was cold as a freezing febuary morning. I ran by myself with my dads watch the whole time. Dude from salt lake stuck around 20 seconds behind me the whole race. Felt pretty good but its tough running by yourself. didnt pr but I won pretty easily and now ive got 100 to spend at the running center so thats noice

| | 8am- didnt blog last week but I have been struggling with a bit of inflammation in the right shin region. cut back my minutes quite a bit and iced and stretched a ton. Bought some new peg 34s from Nike Oregon Project theyre dope. also they make my shin feel a ton better. bringing my minutes back up to full this week. Ran prospector trail and it really sucked. I was tired from the start but I was determined to get back into my full minutes. accidentally went like 110 minutes lol.

ran 25 min in the morning. stuck around and helped out to set up but then me and jose went to get some snacks. luckily coach put my time as 435 so I got into the seeded heat otherwise my race would have been like an hour and a half later. warmed to hearts and back. felt kind of tired but i think i was just a little nervous.
I wasnt very agressive at the start and I got stuck at the very back of the pack. I really dont have much to say about this race. I was slow and not able to keep up. got some work to do

Pine View Invite SM 800 (0.497 Miles) 00:02:02, Place overall: 3 | | Me Samson Michael and Sherm ran the medley, sherm because jacob pulled his hamstring. Samson straight beasted his leg and handed off to me barely in first. Caleb and the timp and orem guys quickly got around me though. I let them lead the first lap 59sec or so. Tried to get moving and pass but only got the orem kid. I didnt really have anything for that second lap and finished 3rd by a few seconds. StateQ though so still good. after watching all our races I really just dont think that we are in racing shape right now. Our workouts are too easy, we never go under 515 pace so idk how we expect to be ready to run 420s and sub 2min 800s. hopefully we will get some work in the coming weeks.

3pm- Desert Hills Invitational 1600m- boys seeded race
twas super windy but thats ok. I warmed up with logan and it feels lonely without carson and julien we need those guys back. we only had me and logan in the seeded 1600 and I was feeling like where is my team? got some good hydration and such yesterday felt pretty good and ready.
started out the race alright in decent position but didnt really move anywhere I didnt want to run by myself in the wind jensen took off and some westlake kid. I stuck in with the pack pretty good and moved into good position last lap and with 200 left moved around the pack and then out kicked them all and took 3rd. pretty good race I got 432. slow first lap and not a pr or a state q but still a good race for me in the wind.
cooled down after the slow heats with the boys. logan moved pretty close to DH so we ran to his house and ate some fruit snacks mm yeah. Got a ride back with carson in the back of his truck. got pretty cold later on. thats it, thats all I have to say for my blog today goodbye everybody.

DH Invite 800m (0.497 Miles) 00:01:59, Place overall: 2 | | woke up, ate some oatmeal with berries and walnuts and honey and apple slices for a good breakfast because breakfast is the most important meal of all time except for snacks.warmed up with the 3200 guys to get some minutes and shake out the legs a bit. the boys ran kind of slow again in the 3200. logan did good and ran a 957. jensen and matthew did good. i brought my little three legged seat so that was good for me to sit and cheer.
1130am- DH INVITATIONAL 800M RUN- boys seeded heat
me and Evan ran the 800 and I started out decent but you know all the 203 guys that go out too fast trapped me in after the first turn. I stuck in the middle of everyone through about 300 meters then at about 450 to go I moved outside and passed like 10 guys over the next 200. with 200m left I caught the kid leading and dropped him and I was in 1st but it took so much energy to do that shiz and I didnt have anything for the last 100. lil Davis guy passed me :'( twas sad I got second. my time was 1:59.4 .
I was actuallly super wasted after i mean I really tightened up in the last little bit of that race and I was so tired after. I walked around and jogged a little. I recieved the 2nd coolest medal then got ready for the 4x400. the team this week was jake me evan and logan in that order. Jake did beast. he got sub 58 by 6 seconds lets go. I maintained our place. evan did good. logan out kicked some guy for 2nd place so I got 3 medals this meet how awesome. also got super sunburnt on my forehead. twas a good meet. after I went home and grinded on fortnite with the boys. im getting better. one day I hope to be able to get a solo victory royale.

thinking back I really got in my own way on that last lap, I wasnt in too bad of position and could have had a good race if I would have finished hard. We are really missing julien and cars

got put in the second heat unfortunatly. got some good decent warmup. the first heat was good and fast which made me bh that i was the 1st seed in the second heat. anyway my race started out slow, around 67. I moved up into first during the second lap and then started moving a bit on the 3rd lap. I was alone at the front and kept pushing through the 4th lap and then some kid blew past me and I held off the rest of them for 2nd in my heat.
Also had the 4x400 later on. I sat around all day in the heat and wind, the weather was just the worst. it cooled off a little for the 4x4 though and we state qualified that despite me running a 54 split. thats about it. im trying to keep a positive mindset but our distance crew is pathetic rn and its tough trying to run good without your boys with you

pm- workout in the wind and pouring rain. 10 warmup 5 easy tempo 3x800 @cv pace, 4x400 @4-3 seconds faster than 1600 pace, 4x100 @ 400 pace, 300 @ f pace. all with 2 min recovery and full before the 300. this was pretty tough workout. hit the 800s about 5 seconds fast on all of them, went 65, 63,63,63 for my 400s and 13s on my 100s and 42 on the 300. the wind really sucked, it hit us on the home stretch, plus we were totally drenched in the rain so I took my shirt off because it was so heavy even though it was cold. good day, still missing j and carson though. Ive kind of given up on expecting them to get it together this season but what can you do.

twas a pretty beast day, good trip up. paul came by and that was fun. I warmed up alone for like 10 minutes, got back right in time. For the race I started out behind a good amount of people and more passed on the outside as I was stuck on the inside. 300m in I was behind like 8 or 10 guys and so I got to the outside and got moving hard I kept that move up and with 300m there was only 1 more guy in head of me. I was going to wait untill the last 100 to take the lead but he was dying and left lane 1 wide open coming into the last 200 so I took it and kicked as best I could and got the win in 157.
good state q, I was dissapointed with my time though not a pr and I felt like I could have raced that one a lot more smart. I need to start faster with more confidence so I dont have to make a move until like 300 left. I need a fast 1st lap to get that pr and school record. they never called us up to the podium but I did get a dope backpack for winning. really fun meet

I forgot my spandex and just wore my loose black shorts. and I didnt use blocks so I felt like a noob. also samson and cooper kenny were in my heat. but I ran super hard and ended up with a 52.67. 400s are fun.

At the end of the first lap I was able to get out of the pack and get up into 2nd and stuck behind Jensen. after lap 2 I went to pass him because he wasnt really making any moves but once I got up next to him he sped up and didnt let me pass. the 3rd lap was good but the 4th lap I fell off jensen a bit and a couple dudes caught me and passed me I was so dead. but I kicked it up a little bit and passed those guys comfortably for 2nd place. decent race
state is for some serious prs

began the race in good position and nice pace. kept my spot around 5th through the first lap. still everyone was close nobody was separating. into the second lap I was able to be around2-3 place and thought about making a move for first on the back stretch but didnt want to risk blowing up. With 200 left the orem and stansbury guys left me and snow canyon was barely in head. I gave everthing i had to go for 3rd, passed the snow canyon kid and out of nowhere ogden flew passed both of us and I finished 4th. 156.2
everyone will tell you good job but to me that race was my shot and i blew it. I wanted to win. I wanted to get a awesome PR. but thats just not how it turned out and its really dissapointing because i was so ready for this. visualized winning it a hundred times. I gave it what i had so Ive got nothing to be mad at it just is what it is.

In this race I was not in the right mindset. yesterday I was really dialed in today I wasnt as focused i dont think. i warmed up good and the weather was perfect to run a really good race. i ran good the first lap. ran alright the second lap still in good pace and position. ran like a wuss and let everyone get away from me the 3rd lap though. i didnt get after it like i could have. I didnt have the fire and it showed. on the 4th lap I just ran hard and finished the race. 9th place 433. This race sucked and I dont know why I just ran slow. This year i had no team, no prs, and few good races, so it was a tough season I wont lie. Its over now and I still feel like i have alot left in me. i know i have a 10 second 1600 pr left that I didnt get.
Last event that I waited all day for was the 4x400. even after the 1600 this morning i was able to get pumped up and ready to give it everything because the 4x400 is awesome. macen ran decent in his leg, idk what pos we were in but I came through my 1st 100 8th in the heat. I think I might have gained on the main pack a little bit I went hard in my leg. Me and jakes handoff was really good but DH and Sc were standing right in his way after he took the stick and he trucked them both pretty hard. samsons leg was also beast he got us into 7th. our team pred and i dont know my split and honestly i dont need to know it. if it was a pr or if it sucked I ran my heart out and thats how I ended high school track with my bros. love those guys and my coaches and everyone who has supported me through the years. thanks a ton. peace out

| | Oceanside Memorial day 5k fun run today. havent ran for a week so it was nice to go for a jog by the ocean and pay some respect to the veterans.

| | ran south along the coast in oceanside to some nice cafe place then i turned around. It was probably around 4 miles. on the way back I ran fast just because I like running fast. last quarter mile was probably like 65 seconds i was hauling.
