My best races thus far have come from Nike Regionals down in Pheonix (5K), the Dixie Invitational (800), and the Davis Invitational (1600). I took 8th place in the 1600 and 11th in the 800 at 3A State. Also at state we were in the slower heat of the Sprint Medley and ended up taking 3rd overall, that was pretty legit.

| | Nice 3 miler in the morning to wake up. The afternoon was in sight and I felt a little nervous for the time trial.. I had never ran a 800 before. I had heard that you need to take out fast and go hard the first lap and even harder the second lap. The time came to line up at the line and get ready for my first 800. With Coach starting us I took off and got out fast, maybe a little too fast. I felt good the first 400 and came in with a 1:01. That kept confidence of reaching my Kosmin test time of a 2:01. Right after the 500 meter curve I could feel myself slowing down and my legs were a little harder to lift. Eager to finish I pushed through the pain finishing my last 100 meters strong and finishing with a 2:08. I was first of the group and now is the time to watch that time improve. Got some experience now I just need to run my next one smarter and see how it goes. It was good to finally run a 800, my legs didn't feel too bad afterwards either so that was a plus. Good day! |

Good Morning run with the usual of 3 miles. For after school we had our AT tempo pace for 30 minutes which was a 5:40ish pace. This was in the middle of an 8 mile run. I first off made sure I was on empty before I left the school if you know what I mean. I was a little nervous after having stomach problems last week. As the tempo started I got right into the pace. I felt good and relaxed, my goal was too just stick it through the workout and finish just as strong as the start. Getting used to the trail the run to the turn around didn't seem very long and that was good. I kept with Mike because I knew we would reach our pace. The way back went pretty fast too and if there was ever a thought in my mind of slowing down I would just tell myself only 800 meters to go. Passing where we started I felt that I should really push and be sure not to fall off. As we made it back to the main road it was only Mike and I and we finished it off strong with an average pace of 5:40. It was a great workout. I felt good the entire time and felt like my form was pretty good from start to finish. Definitely better than last week. Another great day to be a runner. |

| | Very nice and slow morning run. It's always nice to take a morning run easier and give our legs a break. The afternoon was an easy 8 mile run and it had been awhile where I ran with Mike, Casey and Byron the whole time. It felt good, I was a little tired at the end but legs felt good for the most part, little tight but not bad. Good to get the mileage in. Just a good day all around! |

| | The usual three in the morning! Then after school we had something that was new for me at least. We had 8X200, I needed to be hitting a 32 on every one of them. The first one was a 34 then the second one was a 33 and the rest of them were either 32's or 31's. It was a good workout, wasn't all that bad of a workout either, good day! |

Nice morning run! The afternoon was a trail run and it was good, legs felt pretty good. Overall just a good day. Long weekend ahead!! |

| | Today we had a 6 miler with a LT tempo in there which is supposed to be right around a 5:20 for me. I started out pretty well for the first mile and a quarter then we had a little uphill and I fell off of the pack and it was hard to push alone. We figured my pace was right around 5:35, definitely could do better. I think it was from lack of food/energy, next week will be better. |
