Running Accomplishments:

2nd Year of XC (Senior Year). My best races thus far have come from Nike Regionals down in Pheonix (5K), the Dixie Invitational (800), and the Davis Invitational (1600). I took 8th place in the 1600 and 11th in the 800 at 3A State. Also at state we were in the slower heat of the Sprint Medley and ended up taking 3rd overall, that was pretty legit.

After high school and my mission I think that it would be really cool to get into the St. George Marathon. That is one thing I would like to accomplish in my lifetime. Hopefully I will be able to do multiple. In all I would just like to enjoy the time I run and have some fun experiences with it.

Good day for 4X1000. I was supposed to hit each one at 3:09. I hit my first and second at 3:08, my third was a 3:09 and my last one was a 3:06. It was a good workout. The thousands continue to get tougher and tougher but so do we. I felt good, legs were a little tight but it was a good workout.

Morning run with 3 as usual. Afternoon was something new. We ran Ice House. It had a tough hill in it but I was feeling good even though the weather has been warming up lately. It was a beautiful trail and a good day.

Usual 3 in the morn. Afternoon had our 30 min tempo pace around 5:40 pace. I was able to keep the pace till about the turnaround and then it was all really crappy from there. I had stomach problems which caused me to stop twice. Not my best work out in the whole world but looking forward to next weeks.

Nice 3 in the morning. Little cooler, legs a little tight. Afternoon we ran down to the bottom of where we begin our Old Man Hills. My legs were feeling super heavy on the way there but didn't bother me during the workout. My 800 was a 2:37, kept a good pace but started falling back a little towards the end.. Just gotta get used to that 800 hill pace. My first 400 was a 1:07, fastest on the hill so far this season. My second 400 was a 1:12, just needed to push a little harder at the end but it was good. Next was the 200's. My first was :33, second was a :37, third was a :34 and fourth and final one was a :33. Felt pretty good afterwards although my legs were tired and caused a slower run back to the high school. Need some good food and some good rest to recover but the overall day was a success.

Race day! Did the Children of Hope 5K. I took 4th, felt good and it was good to do another race. Legs a little tired but a good race!

Nice 3 miler in the morning to wake up. The afternoon was in sight and I felt a little nervous for the time trial.. I had never ran a 800 before. I had heard that you need to take out fast and go hard the first lap and even harder the second lap. The time came to line up at the line and get ready for my first 800. With Coach starting us I took off and got out fast, maybe a little too fast. I felt good the first 400 and came in with a 1:01. That kept confidence of reaching my Kosmin test time of a 2:01. Right after the 500 meter curve I could feel myself slowing down and my legs were a little harder to lift. Eager to finish I pushed through the pain finishing my last 100 meters strong and finishing with a 2:08. I was first of the group and now is the time to watch that time improve. Got some experience now I just need to run my next one smarter and see how it goes. It was good to finally run a 800, my legs didn't feel too bad afterwards either so that was a plus. Good day!

Good Morning run with the usual of 3 miles. For after school we had our AT tempo pace for 30 minutes which was a 5:40ish pace. This was in the middle of an 8 mile run. I first off made sure I was on empty before I left the school if you know what I mean. I was a little nervous after having stomach problems last week. As the tempo started I got right into the pace. I felt good and relaxed, my goal was too just stick it through the workout and finish just as strong as the start. Getting used to the trail the run to the turn around didn't seem very long and that was good. I kept with Mike because I knew we would reach our pace. The way back went pretty fast too and if there was ever a thought in my mind of slowing down I would just tell myself only 800 meters to go. Passing where we started I felt that I should really push and be sure not to fall off. As we made it back to the main road it was only Mike and I and we finished it off strong with an average pace of 5:40. It was a great workout. I felt good the entire time and felt like my form was pretty good from start to finish. Definitely better than last week. Another great day to be a runner.

Very nice and slow morning run. It's always nice to take a morning run easier and give our legs a break. The afternoon was an easy 8 mile run and it had been awhile where I ran with Mike, Casey and Byron the whole time. It felt good, I was a little tired at the end but legs felt good for the most part, little tight but not bad. Good to get the mileage in. Just a good day all around!

The usual three in the morning! Then after school we had something that was new for me at least. We had 8X200, I needed to be hitting a 32 on every one of them. The first one was a 34 then the second one was a 33 and the rest of them were either 32's or 31's. It was a good workout, wasn't all that bad of a workout either, good day!

Today we had a 6 miler with a LT tempo in there which is supposed to be right around a 5:20 for me. I started out pretty well for the first mile and a quarter then we had a little uphill and I fell off of the pack and it was hard to push alone. We figured my pace was right around 5:35, definitely could do better. I think it was from lack of food/energy, next week will be better.

Went and did Old Man Hills today. It was pretty good too. I had 4X400 and 2X200. I was feeling pretty good from sunday's break off. My first 400 was a 1:09, second was a 1:10, third was a 1:13 and fourth was a 1:09. Those went pretty well, the third could use some work but pretty consistent on the times. My 200's were both a 34. The workout was a success. Glad I could get out with the boys and get it done. Afternoon 3 miles by my lonesome, good run though.

Usual three in the morning.. legs feeling a little tight, throat kind of sore. For the afternoon it was repeat day. We had 4X1000 and then 2X300 at our fast pace. I was looking for a 3:15 on my 1000's. My first was a 3:15, second was 3:14, third was 3:16 and fourth was 3:15. Next was our 300's, the first was a :41, the second one was a :44. They had full recovery in between so not too bad at all. The workout felt good, my throat didn't really bother me so it was a good day.

The usual 3 miler in the morn but with a twist today.. pouring rain. My throat is still a little sore so I kept behind the pack a little bit. The afternoon we just had 4 miles easy. It was super good and ran a pretty good pace talking to Krenny and Mikey. Legs are tight however so stretching is needed but definitely a good day a good run!

Regular morning 3 miler. For the afternoon we did our 200 work out. We had 12X200 and I was supposed to hit a 32 second. The first two were a little slower but  by the end I was either right on or a little fast. It was a good workout!

HALF MARATHON! I had never ran 13 miles so I was a little nervous but I felt pretty good about it. I had not been feeling all that great a few days before and the night of but I woke up feeling a little better and headed over to Mikes then we headed to the buses. After the buses dropped us off we ran our warm-up with the rest of the team. It was a little chilly but I was ready and determined to do my very best. We lined up and the start for what seems like a half and hour. As the had said to start I went to push "start" on my watch and my freaking watch says FILE FULL. I was ticked but just looked at the clock and based my time off of that. Not having my watch I have no idea on my mile splits. We started off pretty fast and were together till we entered into Hell's Canyon and Mike and the boys got a little ahead. Jason and I ran together till around the little tiny hill going onto the Dam Road and I fell back a little bit. Going down the Dam Road I felt like I was getting farther and farther behind but I wasn't going to let that stop me. I tried to keep the distance between Jason and I the same and up and around Nicole's Peak I fell off some more. I then heard Coach yelling at me telling me to get going and have faith that I could get back up with Jason. It took me awhile to do it but as we went up Majestic Hill I made some ground on him, not much but just enough to feel good. Going down towards Staheli Farm I passed him and I just kept it rolling after that. I knew I was getting close and all I could think of is that there was only a 5K left and that seemed like nothing so I kept running along till I came within 400 meters and I could see everyone and what looked like the finish and a great Coach waiting for me. I sprinted in to the finish with the help of Holt and I was tired as can be but I had done it. It felt so good! I took 8th overall and 3rd in my age group, it was a super good experience. I am really glad I did it!

5 miles in the morning, felt good! In the afternoon we did the decathalon training and had 4 miles with striders. It was kind of nice to do something else other than running, but running is still my favorite.

In the morning we had the Kosmin test. It was our second and it was a little chilly. Last time I got 808 meters with an estimated time of 2:01. I was just hoping to get that again or better. I took off the first lap but I didn't get to where I got in the first Kosmin test. I just wasn't feeling it, the second one started and I didn't quite make it 400 meters. My estimated time this test was a 2:03 with only going 795 meters. Little upset with the way I performed but onward and upward. I know I can get that 2:01. The afternoon we just had an easy 3 miler with the decathalon.
