Good run on bonneville for a pre race shakeout.  5 easy miles.  Feels weird racing 3/4 days and not running on one of them.

Went and helped at the junior high kids track meet.  Did the timing and then the announcing, I had hilarious things to say but molen made me keep it at least semi official.  Also on this note, shout out to connor baller because a girl at our school, we were talking about announcing and she started talking about the Lehi, Lone Peak, AF tri meet and how funny the announcer is.

Finally race time.  Got to the line, Watched the girls heat and then did a quick 5 meter stride.  Then the timer started us, got out well, in 1st place, went to second by 10 meters in but then 3rd by around 15 meters in.  Saw craik and Russell trying to pull away but held near them.  Passed 50 meters around 22 seconds then was going for the kick in but my hand was dying and my arms gave out twice.  So slowed a lot then finally kicked it in passing russell.  Finished with a 62, 2nd from our school all-time, as well as 45th in the US all-time, and 9th US this season.  Craik smashed the high school world record and went a 48,  which is olympic qualifying time.  So in conclusion, Craik has great potential if he sticks to his training.  BTW he was only 6 seconds off the World Record!

Lol I like the serious tone of the race report. I really felt your pain as your arms gave out
