Biked down to the park trail on 98th and ran with the bbks 6 miles then rode my bike to the trax and took it to work. Then to the office for a soggy morning run/ride.

Took the trax to sandy and rode home. Good workout.

I met Steve Hooper at La Quinta at 3:30  this morning. Yes I said 3:30! We went up to the start and waited in the rain a bit and right before they were going to shoot the gun off the Van that was carrying all our bags of clothes forgot to close the sliding back door and took off and we watched our clothes slowly fall out as he drove away. NOT FUNNY! A cop pulled him over after a half mile down the road. So that delayed us a bit. Plus the start was very narrow and they put the porta pottis down a half a mile so we had to wait for slow poopers to come up.  It started very fast just like I predicted. I was running next to Steve Ashbaker, Dave Holt, and Clyde Behunin. It was raining and a slight head wind. I traded off with Steve to try and not get tired but on his turn he turned up the pace and I couldnt go that fast.  At mile 9 I had a pit stop that took 58 seconds which burned me because Dave was about 200 yards ahead of me and Clyde was about 50 yards behind me. When I came out Clyde was about  300 yards ahead of me which blew my mind.  I worked and worked to catch him from then but he was increasing the gap. I caught a stragler at mile 12 in a bright yellow shirt and then a Kenyan at mile 13 which felt good. I was going to scare him and growl but I didnt want to lose a position.  I then passed one other guy at about mile 18 and then saw my family at mile 19.5 as they gave me a gu and Cytomax. I also had a cheerleader slap my butt at mile 17 which rarely happens! Except of course in Wellesley. lol It was Andrea from the Runamoks with Craig cheering us soggy pathetic runners on.  I made it out of the canyon and after drinking that Cytomax I honestly picked my pace up! I almost caught Dave and Clyde and as I got near them, Dave poured on the gas and Clyde followed suit. I passed a few more runners after that and right at mile 23 I saw Steve stop at the aid station and he wasnt looking good. I passed him slowly and by mile 24.5 I was fading so bad I thought he would catch me. There is a bridge that goes up over a railroad tracks they make you run up at mile 25.25 which is just not even funny! I was running in place at that point and when I got to the top I got a nice downhill surge to the finish.  It was fun seeing the Sun runners up and even Paul from up north.
