wow my stress level has come down a lot lately. Ive been able to get a lot of chores and business catching ups to do from Saturday to today. I ran 10 miles this eveing in 1:08:25 or a 6:50 per mile pace. I felt really good and was able to start in some warmer temps then it got cold quick with a slight wind from the south. Glad to have it in.

Went up to Daybreak and met a huge group of BBK runners. Im starting to see more new faces. I ended up getting there at 5:45 so only got 6.3 miles in. Im going to the Olympic oval tonight to finish my other speed workout. I will be there a little after 7 with my scouts. They are working on their Personal Fitness.

Went down to 123rd south and park trail to run with the BBK runners. I ended up doing a 10k. In a little under an hour.

Had a long day of working for the man and came home and ran up to Danielles house and did a total of 8.8 and 6 with her. That made a 15 mile day.

Carpooled up with Lisa, a friend from High School to Weber State college. Warmed up 2 miles and then did the first race of 5. The 5k. On the dreaded hill. Mile 1 was a 5:43, 2 was 6:03, 3 was 5:36 and my watch hit .13 for the last in :47 seconds. It was a little wet mostly on the ground and I had a hard time breathing. I really hate 5k's I never have been good at them. I need to do more tempo runs and speed workouts for sure. Its funny because I did a 5:30 pace on the Oval a couple weeks ago. This overall pace was 5:47.  It was good catching up with Lisa. 20 years since high school and not a lot has happened. lol

11 miles at a long slow recovery pace. 1:16 total over all and it felt long to me but I needed it. It was really foggy out and the wind blew from the North.

Did 11 miles up around Daybreak similar to where I ran yesterday but did a zig zag pattern the last 4 miles. It felt good and I sprinted the hard hill by the Temple which is about a .33 stretch. I did it all in 1:16:55 which is a 6:59 pace.  time to ice and stretch!

Ran to Dimple Dell Gym in Sandy which is exactly 6 miles. Did it in 40 minutes even. or a 6:39 pace. Had to cross over I15 freeway which was interesting in the dark. After I got to the gym I grabbed some water and then did a 3 mile tempo run on the treadmill at a 5:29 pace. I did it in 16:27. I did 11 miles an hour which is fun to watch the expressions on some peoples faces. haha So I then did a mile cool down on the indoor track which is 10 laps. My whole workout took a total time of 1:03. A good workout.

Went to a park in Riverton and did a warmup mile then did quarter mile marathon paced intervals. My knees hurt a bit from that but I will live!

Late afternoon, ran 8 miles up around daybreak in my shorts and long sleaved shirt from St. George Half marathon. Very nice day. a bit windy from the north.  Its nice to see people out walking again and spring birds singing and...is that a song I hear coming on...

Met Danielle up at Daybreak and did an 8 mile run with her. I cant believe how much colder it is tonight compared to last night. sheesh! It feels as though a storm is in the midst. My lower back was giving me some pain. I think its just age creeping up.

Ran from my house up to Dimple Dell Gym and did some serious swimming! NOT. I played with my 8 year old daughter Bailey. We went down the slide, and played on the kids toys they have. I guess i used it as a cold teatment for my legs.

Went up to Dee Events center and it was 22 degrees when I got there. I was shocked at how cold it was only 45 miles north of us.  I did a warm up and lined up behind these girls who would not let me get to the front. At the last second I sort of pushed my way by them and then took off. I was behind Ben and another runner for the first half mile up hill and then it started to level off and Steve made a huge push and got Ben running faster. my first mile was 5:37 which is ok because we didnt really push hard up the hill. I was in 3rd place at this point and Steve and Ben were just blasting down the hill. Mile two I did a 5:08 and they were gapping me. Unbelievable! I talked to Steve and he said they did a 4:40 mile on the second mile. ugg! Mile 3 Ben passed Steve at this point and looked real strong. I did a 5:40 with some ups and downs but gradual ups. Steve started fading from Ben at this point and I was gaining on him. Mile 4, 5:52 and I was fading and the pack of runners behind me started gaining. Mile 5, 6:31. This is the oh so famous hill I like to call 'bastard hill' Im not gonna lie when I say its close to 10% grade for about 1/4 mile and the rest isnt as steep but still bastard like! I was happy to see a 6:31 pace at this time. I did pass Steve just before mile 5 and tried to get my legs to accelerate. It was hard. at 1/2 mile to go I peeked back and saw a runner hot on my back and started to push as hard as I could with some nice downhill to the Dee events center. I beat him only by 12 seconds so he was a downhill runner. Mile 6 was a 6:30 time and I finished in 36:30. Ben beat the course record in 35:02 and did great! Im glad this race is behind me. One more hard race to go. Im trying to decide if its smart to do it this year one week before Moab half. I am known for my insanity though. We will see!

I ran from my house up to Butterfield Canyon until I hit 8 miles. I went up through daybreak, turned left at the new High School that I will be hopefully coaching at in Herriman, then over to 13100 South and up to the mouth of the Canyon. Now I know I can get about 2 miles of canyon hill in for a 20 miler.  I ran up and back in 1:48:58.
