| | am--3 Some more miles.
I finished The Power of Myth, the book-length interview between Bill Moyers and Joseph Campbell. Campbell's wisdom makes sense of life and deepens my own beliefs. I also finished Narrow Road to the Interior and Other Writings by Matsuo Basho, the great haiku master.

| | pm--3 Some barefoot grass loops. I had to cut it short because something about the air irritated my throat, and I was coughing like crazy.

| | pm--4 Some easy miles while studying firebending.
I also finished Inherent Vice by Thomas Pynchon. It's a detective novel set at the end of the '60s. The PI is something like the Dude navigating his way through the quirky counterculture that is trademark Pynchon. I have a few more of his books to tackle. We'll see how the summer goes.

I finished Sing, Unburied, Sing, a much acclaimed novel by Jesmyn Ward. It picked up in the last 30 pages. I wanted more of the magical realism throughout the novel.

| | am--4.75 Got up and out earlier than normal. For some reason, I pushed the pace a bit and did about 10 minutes of what would probably be considered tempo work for me at the moment.

| | pm--3.75 I was home alone w/ my younger kids this morning, so I didn't run until later. This week has helped me to realize that a nice run in the morning is the best way to start a day.
