Biggest week of the year, so far.

| | pm--6.5 Tready miles while starting The Last Dance. I watched nearly all of Jordan's career on WGN as a kid, but I'm still blown away.

| | am--5 Barefoot grass loops at the softball field. I took the last two days off becuase some hammy twinges on the run the other day. Consequently, I decided to go close to home and take it easy. This was just what I needed. The loops took me about 30 minutes, and the high-powered sprinklers were on in the same area the whole time. Must take a lot of water to maintain what amounts to an inch or so of grass spread across an outfield. I'll have to do a run like this at least once a week.

I also finished The Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare. I'm in the process of looking into stuff for future teaching.

I finished The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo. It's an award winning YA book written in verse. Quick read w/ contemporary themes.

| | pm--5 My motivation comes and goes, but eventually I start feeling bad about being a slug and head out. The barefoot grass loops w/ Robert Nesta on the buds was perfect.

| | pm--7 A little longer run up around the Canyons. I'm thinking I need to make better food choices.
I finished The Leavers by Lisa Ko. It's on my list of contemporary fiction TBR list. It reminded me of a shorter, better version of The Goldfinch. Deals with culture, language, and finding your place.

| | am--5 Ran into Green Valley. My quads are trashed from idk what, maybe bending down to tape balloons for the graduation parade. Felt beat. I had to mix in a couple short walk breaks.

| | am--3.5 Just a few miles at the end of a tired week. Hope I bounce back after a rest day.
I finished The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien. Brutal and funny, the book is a well-written example of meta fiction. I would recommend it.

| | am--5 My regular Orem run up 400 E. and back. I felt okay. It seems like shoes w/ cushioning that gives and, thus, allows too much pronation on my funky right foot makes my inner knee ache a bit more.

| | am--7 My usual Tuesday grass run w/ 6x barefoot striders. They were slower today. Who knows why? I do like getting some striders in, though.
