Wow - what a great day! I went to a new foot doctor who did an MRI. The results came back that the fracture has healed and I can SLOWLY come back. The tendon that supports my ankle is still very weak, so I have some physical therapy to help strengthen it. He also gave me a small brace to wear while I work out. While we were talking on the phone, I took off the boot and put it in the back of my closet - hopefully never to see it again! I went for a great bike ride today - it was definitely slow, but I was so happy to be moving and huffing and puffing that I didn't care! 9.12 miles in 54:12 minutes Then I went to the gym for a swim. 30 laps in 21:53 I feel like this mental load has been lifted. I still have a few weeks till I can run on it, but I am excited to be moving and the end is in sight.
