Favorite Running Quotes:
1.
"Sooner or later the serious runner goes through a special, very personal experience that is unknown to most people.
Some call it euphoria. Others say it's a new kind of mystical experience that propels you into a elevated state of consciousness, a flash of joy.
A sense of floating as you run. This experience is unique to each of us, but when it happens, you break through a barrier that separates you from casual runners. Forever. And from that point on, there is no finish line. You run for your life. You begin to be addicted to what running gives you."
~Nike Poster
2. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
You’ve no doubt heard this. And you’ve probably recited it in your mind on a run or at the gym when you’re just beginning to get in shape. You have a goal in sight and this quote brings you back to the current moment.
But the problem is that many runners forget all of the steps between the first one and the goal. If your goal is to run under two hours for the half marathon then you need to be honest about all of the little steps to get to that goal.
You should have goals, but you should take it one step at a time. And you should be honest about the fact that you don’t know how many steps it will take to get there. ~ Vernon Gambetta

| 43:45 minutes My feet are still a bit sore after the orthotic disaster on Saturday. I brought my other insoles just in case and after 2 minutes of running in the orthotics, I changed back into my old ones. Much better! I am loving this warmer weather and hope to get on my bike sometime this week!

| 42:19 minutes I slept in this morning and it felt heavenly! I left my house this afternoon with way too many neighborhood kids, pumpkin bread remnants on the floor, and dinner still to be cooked. A perfect time to go to the gym! I lifted legs and did some core work tonight. My lower back always hurts after I do squats (I HATE SQUATS...one more time...I HATE SQUATS). I'm assuming I am doing them wrong, but I don't know what I am doing wrong. I ran in the cardio cinema and watched some dude totally crash on the TM. Poor guy. I felt really good and am going to try some speed tomorrow. I've been wearing my orthotics during the day and am becoming more use to them. Someday, I may try them running.

| Oh....I'm so tired today...way too many kids up in the middle of the night. My favorite line of the middle of the night madness is "Mom I have the coughs because of the new dishwasher). Sweet....our new dishwasher gives out coughs! I did my first "speed" workout in well over a year. I'm not sure it would really be qualified as speed since I'm still not that fast, but..... 2 mile warm up at 6.2 mph 5x400 at 9.0 (6:40 mile or 1:40 quarter..I think) (2 summers ago when I was training hard before my injury, I was running those at a 1:35...sigh....) Cooled down until I hit 4.5 miles Speed work is such a mental game. A hard game for me to play! But it is done and over!

| I was suppose run 3 miles today, but I've been shivering in bed all day. Body aches, chills, sinus infection and a case of the flu. Hooray for good doctors, antibotics and chocolate covered mini-donuts! |

| I was really thinking about not running today. I still didn't feel good (lots of body aches, coughs, runny nose), but miles have to be done right? I knew I couldn't do my scheduled 8 miles, so I settled for 6. I will turn this week into an easy week. My legs felt great, but I was hacking up a lung and had to stop lots to blow my nose. I'm sure the people around me wanted me to leave! Off to bed! 58:43 minutes
