I just got back from the doctor.  Two more stress reactions (not quite as bad as a fracture).  Honestly.

So I'm out for 4 weeks and have to start rebuilding all over again.

I'm feeling quite defeated and my spirit is crushed.  I've really tried to "come back" from the last injury slowly and smart (and the doctor said I have), but my body just isn't having it.

Sad sad sad day.

Over and out

Oh Toby!!! I am so so so so so sorry!!!

I can't believe this! You have been so good and careful and patient! This must be so discouraging and frustrating for you. Sending hugs and healing thoughts your way!

What the heck?!? I mean REALLY?!? There is NO way this is happening!! I am feeling crushed and defeated for you as well - you were SO good!!! I guess the only good news is that it's hopefully only 4 weeks and not 4 months, because you caught it early. I'm Sorry Toby!! I wish I could help somehow, I really do! :(

I'm saying a lot more than HECK right now :) I asked the doctor how ONE long run (only 2 miles longer than my previous long run) could give me a stress fracture.

I'm not sure what I am doing wrong...maybe my form. A sad day!

Oh this is so so sad. :( I was hoping this wasn't going to be the update. :( I'm so sorry.

Have you ever thought of starting one mile at a time with barefoot or minimalist shoes? I know you're probably thinking I'm crazy, but I've been studying it more and more. I never thought I would look into it, but my achilles stuff is driving me crazy. The thought of strengthening my legs from the ground up seems like it might be what I need. After my runs, my feet hurt even worse if I wear my comfy shoes with orthodics. It actually feels better to walk barefoot or wear my Nike Free shoes. I think I'm going to try it. I'm sure your doctor would disagree and about 99% of the people on this blog, but just thought I would put it out there.

Get better soon. :( If it makes you feel better, the first thing I thought of when I found out you were just coming back from a huge injury was "how is she still so freaking skinny?" LOL! :) I gained about 10 pounds during my time off from Dec-March. Ugh! So not fair that you still look good! Hahaha. :)

Sorry Toby :(
