I felt heavy and my legs are really tight, but the run was actually ok. I'm not sure what the deal is.

What weight? Can't can't weigh more than 140. I couldn't believe my weight dropped to 153 right before Boston, but as of this morning it was back at 160.

yeah - Rhett - I'm right around 143 today. Worried- I looked at my log from last year and I was in the same boat. I just feel better about 5 lbs lighter I guess but I takes more will power and all that.
This all comes from a guy always having weight issues as a kid through about 5 years ago. I topped out at 210 in 2001 or 2002 before I decided I didn't want to end up like my dad and joined the Y. It all leads up to now - where I obsess about my weight. I don't want it creeping up again. :)
I was thinking about yours dropping in the week before boston. What did you change other than not lifting and such for a couple weeks beforehand?
From Rhett on Tue, Apr 27, 2010 at 19:49:56 from 74.32.222.202
That's the crazy thing Tim. I didn't feel like I changed anything except not lifting for the last 3 weeks befoe Boston. I did eat more carbs and less protein also, but I felt like I was eating a lot and every morning when I would get on the scale I would expect a gain in weight and every day it kept dropping. I haven't quite figured it out, but I guess my body liked racing at the lighter weight.

Yeah whatever it was, Rhett, it worked. :)

Tim, that's awesome you lost so much weight. I was in the same boat. I topped out at 240 four or five years ago. It sure feels good to get all that weight off. I was really bummed out after St. George when the day after I mysteriously gained 5 lbs and then all of a sudden I was up 15 lbs. What was up with that? I know I wasn't running as much after that, but I guess I never cut back on my eating. I think I'm getting it back under control. I've lost 3 lbs this week.

Wow Dale - that is awesome!
It is a constant battle isn't it?
From Huans32 on Wed, Apr 28, 2010 at 14:52:53 from 138.64.8.52
Yeah it is a constant battle for sure. Alot of it can be just water weight though too. You can change like 10 pds in a day easy. I remember my first 20 miler losing 10 pounds all in water weight. So throw that in with your daily workouts and who knows really where you are. Mostly though I try to go by how I feel. I wouldn't worry about it or stress about it. Or you will actually then hold onto your weight even more.

the water weight factor is definitely there - I just try to monitor the trends...
