Teena, what's the running plan? or are you just in a wait and see mode?

From Tom Slick on Fri, Oct 24, 2014 at 07:15:53 from 168.179.157.240

Looks like your getting the St Geo Mary behind you!

From Teena Marie on Sun, Oct 26, 2014 at 23:03:16 from 24.49.99.147

Hey there Rhett and Slick! :-)

Have not decided what my running plans on now, per se.

I have had some blood work done recently and I have to figure out a way to increase the level of testosterone in my system (it is next to zilch) before I am left with no other option but to go on hormone therapy.

The past week I have been trying to do more strength training in hopes of this helping. I am still running a few short runs a week but it has definitely not been my focus.

I haven't been on the blog much because:

1. I have been insanely busy

and

2. It makes me want to run more! :-)

I will retake the blood tests in a couple of months if things start turning around, or sooner if things get worse (the fatigue, night sweats, etc.).

Wish me luck!! :-)

I will try to get caught up on my blog and all of your and our friends blogs soon!

Love you guys!

From Rhett on Mon, Oct 27, 2014 at 10:49:45 from 24.121.0.8

Good luck!

At least you know what is causing the problems. Now, how to fix it?

From Smooth on Mon, Oct 27, 2014 at 11:18:52 from 67.2.102.76

Testosterone, huh? who knew? TJ has had lots of night sweat episodes, may be he should have his hormone tested. I've had had night sweats on and off since in my 30s, more frequently in my 40s and lately once a month.

Best of luck with getting things figured out! Love ya! :)

From Smooth on Mon, Nov 10, 2014 at 01:48:13 from 67.2.102.76

Happy happy birthday Teena! Hope all your wishes come true!!! :) :) :)

I miss reading your blog Teena. I understand why your taking a break though. We've all been there. I hope you're doing better.

Thinking of you!

From Teena Marie on Wed, Nov 26, 2014 at 07:45:08 from 166.137.246.58

Hi everyone. I'm still here, just have been taking a break from blogging. I'm still running, albeit not as much. I usually run 4-5 times a week for about 4-5 miles at a time. I've started swimming and mountain biking again and have been hitting the gym frequently for both free weights and the machines. My body and hormones are going through something crazy right now. I'm just trying to figure it all out and control what I can. :-)

I think about you all often and wish I had enough money to buy all my friends and loved ones vacation homes in my neighborhood! That's the truth. I'm also going through a melancholy type week after seeing "The Good Lie," the movie about the Sudan Lost Boys. You know those type of days when you can't figure out why the world can't be more kind. I'm sure my crazy hormones are partly to blame for my difficulty escaping this tiny funk I'm in. Anyway ... Enough said, I'm blabbing. Ha!! Love you guys! Happy Thanksgiving!!! :-)

From Tom Slick on Wed, Nov 26, 2014 at 08:25:13 from 168.179.157.240

Get outside and take in some sunshine! You know the problem now create the solution. You da woman!!!!

From Rhett on Wed, Nov 26, 2014 at 09:56:28 from 24.121.0.8

Good job Teena on the biking and swimming. If you are anything like me it will really make you a faster runner. I ran a PR 5K two weeks after my half IM. I'm a believer that tri training makes me a better runner and keeps my whole body feeling much healthier and happier.

From Smooth on Mon, Dec 01, 2014 at 10:13:41 from 67.2.108.5

Glad to know you're "still there" having it all and doing it all! :) :) :)

Yah, I wanna vacation home there for the winter...wishful thinking! :)

Happy 12 days of Christmas to you and yours! :)

From Rhett on Wed, Dec 24, 2014 at 10:32:29 from 24.121.0.8

Merry Christmas Teena. I miss you on the blog. Have a wonderful time with your cute family.

From Teena Marie on Sun, Dec 28, 2014 at 10:47:40 from 24.49.99.147

Smooth, Rhett and Slick!

Hey there!!! Sorry it has taken me so long to respond.

Minus one thing, Christmas was GREAT! We spent it in Salt Lake. Unfortunately, I had to work through Tuesday evening and so Rylee and I went up a bit later than the rest of the crew. Sadly, on our trip up we decided to make a quick stop at the Costco in Spanish Fork to pick up a last minute Christmas gift. Rylee was driving. About 100 yards from where you turn into Costco there is a side street. A guy ran a stop sign that was at the end of this street and hit us pretty hard: T-boned right into the passenger side (I am relieved that I was the passenger and not Rylee). Although both Rylee and I have been quite sore (neck, upper back, etc.) it could have been so much worse. We are still waiting to find out if they are going to total out the car or if it is repairable. Insurance companies can be quite slow (especially during the holidays). We are back home in St. George now. I am going to try and go to work tomorrow.

Other than than the wreck, life is great. Until the wreck I was running 5 days a week. Only running 4-7 miles a day, per choice. I have also been spending more time doing resistance training, biking, swimming, etc. My most recent labs showed a slight increase in my testosterone which I attribute to the decrease in endurance training and increase in resistance training as well as the DHEA supplements they have me on. The increase is not drastic but it has reduced the hot flashes substantially. :-)

Going back on forth on whether or not I really am going to do Boston.

How are all of you??? I hope that you are enjoying the holidays with family and loved ones! :-)

From Tom Slick on Sun, Dec 28, 2014 at 14:02:01 from 69.171.160.237

Hey Ms. Teena, good to hear you and your family are alright after being "T-Boned".

( A Bone Head Guy running a stop sign isn't an accident! Don't get me started about what I think of dumbass drivers that are too good to obey the traffic laws!!!)

You know my thoughts about Boston and I'm gunna be there in April 2015. What are you thinking about Boston? I really hope your going to be there. I owe you a flank slap!!!!!!

From Rhett on Sun, Dec 28, 2014 at 16:46:29 from 199.117.154.54

Boy I'm glad to hear you all are safe. Good news that the testosterone levels are up a bit as well.

From Smooth on Fri, Jan 02, 2015 at 16:23:38 from 65.130.239.124

Happy New Year, Teena! Here's to a fantastic 2015. Love and miss you! :)

From Smooth on Wed, Jan 14, 2015 at 15:04:25 from 70.57.92.82

It's been 3 months since you last blogged! How are you and your cute family?

From Teena Marie on Wed, Jan 14, 2015 at 18:15:20 from 205.126.95.0

Hey there sweet Smooth!

Things are great. With work and four kids playing ball [(some on two teams and one on three teams) and another in gymnastics] I have simply been swamped. Running and working out consistently but not at the same level I used to. Will have to ramp it up soon if I want to run Boston though. How are you?

From Rhett on Thu, Jan 15, 2015 at 10:08:59 from 24.121.0.8

Oh good! You're still alive Teena. I was starting to worry. Good look with the ramp up for Boston.

From Smooth on Fri, Jan 16, 2015 at 12:41:08 from 71.219.132.183

Life of a parent with athletic kids and everything else, you're amazing! Cheers! :)

From Rhett on Wed, Jan 28, 2015 at 10:18:40 from 24.121.0.8

Hi Teena, I'm trying not to bug you too often, but I was just thinking about you and wondering if you decided to go ahead and do Boston this year, or not?

From Smooth on Wed, Jan 28, 2015 at 11:43:07 from 71.219.132.183

Hi Teena!

From Teena Marie on Wed, Jan 28, 2015 at 20:02:13 from 205.126.95.0

Hey there Smooth and Rhett!! :-)

I keep on thinking that I will start to post again but it just hasn't yet happened! I miss all of you a great amount. Truth!

As for Boston, that all depends if I can find some decent airfare. :-)

With that said, I'm not running it to kill myself. I just barely started the 12 week 55 mile max week plan. I'm not going over 55 this time around and taking more rest days. My body simply can't do it anymore without compromising some other aspect in my life.

Wish we could all get together soon!!!!

From Rhett on Thu, Jan 29, 2015 at 05:54:36 from 199.117.154.214

It would be fun to see you guys. I won't be in Boston this year though, so I will have to live through you vicariously if you find that "decent airfare." 12 weeks will be plenty of time since I'm sure you are already in great shape.

From DaleG on Tue, Mar 24, 2015 at 22:35:26 from 152.216.15.5

How are you doing, Teena? We sure do miss you on the blog.

From Smooth on Thu, Mar 26, 2015 at 17:09:33 from 71.219.158.9

Hey there cute girl, ready for Boston?

From Teena Marie on Sat, Mar 28, 2015 at 16:55:57 from 166.170.14.75

Hey Rhett, Dale and Smoothalicious!!

In short: I'm actually not in great shape, but life is still fantastic, ready for a little vaca in Cali/Boston (Thursday - Sunday morning in Cali and Sunday evening - Tuesday in Boston) but no where near ready to run a good time!! 😜😜😜

It sure is great to hear from all of you though! ❤️

From DaleG on Sat, Mar 28, 2015 at 19:57:45 from 66.135.12.187

A vacation before a marathod is a great idea!

From Rhett on Sat, Mar 28, 2015 at 21:31:03 from 199.117.154.54

Oh good. I'm glad you decided to run Boston. With me expectations you will just be able to enjoy the weekend and the race. Have fun.

From Smooth on Mon, Mar 30, 2015 at 19:59:09 from 71.219.158.9

Best of both worlds! :) Enjoy your vaca (holidays as they say Down Under) with Ry from coast to coast!!! :) :) :)

From Rhett on Thu, Apr 16, 2015 at 13:00:10 from 24.121.0.8

Teena, you must be heading out to Boston soon. What is your bib # so we can track you? Have fun!

From Teena Marie on Thu, Apr 16, 2015 at 18:20:30 from 166.170.5.31

Oh no ... You do not want to track me! It is NOT going to be pretty! Poor training, fitness is only okay, tired, and a bit cranky! ;-)

But for your entertainment, here you go: 13616

Just headed to San Diego now. Won't hit Boston until late Sunday afternoon. Crossing my fingers that I will make it to packet pickup before 6:00 pm when they shut the whole shindig down! Like I said, this race is going to be on the less than pretty side!! Just going to enjoy the time with Ry and eat some yummy seafood!

From Rhett on Tue, Apr 21, 2015 at 11:37:07 from 24.121.0.8

Good job finishing Boston with a decent time even without much training. You a just a natural. I hope you and Ryan had an amazing weekend.

From Matt Schreiber on Wed, Apr 22, 2015 at 20:00:23 from 66.17.102.175

Awesome job at Boston Teena! Hope you had fun!

From Teena Marie on Sun, Apr 26, 2015 at 21:28:46 from 24.49.99.147

Thanks Rhett and Matt,

It definitely wasn't my best race, but considering all, I'm okay with it.

One thing though, it did make me want to train right the next time around. I'm still just trying to get a hang of this working full time, spending time with my family, and running/exercising gig. I don't know how so many of you do it. I am in more awe of many of you than ever before. :-)

Also, I likely should get back to being on the blog more. Yes, it is a bit more time consuming, but it helps with accountability. You know? :-)

Hope all is well with all of you! And, thanks again. :-)

From Rhett on Mon, Apr 27, 2015 at 09:33:41 from 24.121.0.8

I vote that you get started back on the blog by giving us a race report of Boston.:)
