Get back into shape and lower my running times (5K and 10K in particular).

Run a half marathon and possibly a marathon.

Still be running 20+ years from now.

Personal:

I ran cross country and track in high school in good old Indiana and at Valparaiso University in college. I've been married for 14 years now to my beautiful wife Kathleen. We have 3 wonderful kids, and I teach physics, astronomy, and earth science at Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL.

I tried out a new route this evening. I'm going to call it the Grease Monkey loop. It was a nice route. Total time for 4.2 was 32:27 (7:43/mile).

A nice run with Symphany. We stopped to look at the foxes in the field near the church. She loves to point out the birds and bunnies and other wildlife on our runs. Total time was 31:37 (8:19/mile).

I ran the Grease monkey loop backwards which meant that the hills were closer to the end of the run.  It felt good though.  Total time was 33:06 (7:52/mile).

Ran to the stake center and back to the park with Symphany.  Then we headed home and I headed back out for 3 more miles by myself.  It felt good.  Total time was 40:04 (7:42/mile).  I pushed it the last half mile or so to try and finish under 40 minutes and to get back in time for school.

Ran down to the University and back.  It was a good run.  I met Symphany and Kathleen at the park on the way back, and then we walked home.  Total time was 41:11 (7:29/mile).
