I was very inspired by the race reports this past Saturday! Good job everyone!! Another reason I love this blog- the race reports helped to motivate me & get a little more serious about my goals.  I really want to break my 5k PR this year for starters.  I think it would help me to run alone at least 1x a week.  I usually run with friends & we chat the whole time, therefore not really pushing myself in my training runs.  Today I went alone and averaged 8:49 on a tough 5 miler (more than 50% was slight uphill).  I think I can definately get to 8:35/8:40 average pace on my training runs if I run alone more often.  I don't want to be above 9:15 unless its a long run.

I'm thinking about running a 5k in Florida June 7th while I'm down there.  This probably wouldn't be the PR 5k because I haven't really been doing any tempo, speed work lately.  But ESPECIALLY because I don't know how I'll do in the heat.  It will be low to mid 90s and very high humidity most likely.  But I love to do races in other places when ever I have the opportunity and this one is at a cool nature park so I think it will keep hubby & kids entertained while I do a quick (hopefully, hee hee) 5k.  I'll have a week to run down there before the race so I can decide if my body can handle the heat in a race or not.

Abs & Arms (weights) today.  Will run 6 w/ Buff & Heather in the am.  Will try to set the pace and keep it no slower than 9 min. miles.  Not sure if Heather will like that idea since she's recovering from an Ultra!

Long day.  Finally sitting down to blog the run! I must've been really tired today because I slept through my alarm and missed meeting up w/ the gals for the early run.  So I had to get out later in the day alone.  I think it was good for me.  I did the same route as Monday and really pushed myself.  Despite the heat and wind I kept 8:29 av. pace, so I'm very happy with this.  Man, I was working though, it was TOUGH!

QQuestion for bloggies that run in Mizunos (currently I have Waverider 11..I think...)

How many miles do you get out of them? I'm up to 483, but they still feel good?!

Upper body weights & toning again today.  Tomorrow I will run with Alison, then hopefully a longish run Saturday morning.  Saturday I leave town until June 11th.  So no, I won't have fallen off the face of the earth, but probably won't have any computer access until June 12th.  I'll be chilling on Clearwater Beach, FL- thinking of all you running fools.  (J/K)  I will be visiting the in-laws down there and some of my family too (Grandmom, Aunt's family, etc)  I will be running on the sand and enjoying grouper sandwiches.  I've even signed up for the Spring Into Summer 5k and hopefully I won't die of heat stroke running it!  Take care of yourselves dear bloggies & happy running!

Couldn't ask for better weather this morning! Low 50's, no wind.  Just perfect! Met up with Allison for a great run. She did almost 5 mi. with me and only had to stop once.  We kept just under 10 min. miles.  This is really good progress, she is used to only running 3 miles and stopping a few times throughout.  10 min. miles felt like an easy treat today after running under 9 on my recent training runs.  After I dropped Allison off I ran 8:44 for my last mile.  I see light at the end of the slow tunnel.  I think if I stay consistent with a at least 2 runs on my own (not chatting with friends) a week close and keep it close to 8:30 pace I will get faster right?  I think I'd just gotten lazy in my training and thought I could just go out & run without much of a plan. After vacation I'll treat myself to some new Mizunos, these will have over 500 miles on them.  I'm so glad Steve got me in these shoes, they've been great!
