1 mile warm up., 8:30 at random incline to 1.5%.

1.5 at 6:00 then 1 at 5:53.  (I wish I had run all the way to 3.1, but stopped at 2.5 so I let a new 5k pr get away from me, just like Bigfoot.)

One hour strike class, good class today.

I was more tired than I thought, so I finished with 3 easy at 8:30 at random incline to 1.5% then 1 at 6:00 no incline, .5 at 8:30, then .5 at 5:30 but at -3% decline.

Hey!! You are running some SUPER FAST miles. Please be careful!!!

(So stinkin' fast!!!)

From Smooth on Mon, May 04, 2009 at 12:25:20 from 71.36.87.147

You got your $$$ worth out of that TM. Too bad it isn't like a slot machine or something like...the faster you run the more dollar coins the TM will spew out. Bet you feel like a million bucks though running those 5ish splits. GOOD JOB!

Bigfoot has too much drag with his fur coat not to mention the size of his sneakers.

SWEET workout man. That is some very fast miles. You are in great shape right now. And all the inclines I see are really helping you alot. Great tactics and training there Paul. I see that sub 3 coming up soon.

Good miles on the week so far. Smooth is right about the treadmill. I guess seeing you out on the road would be as rare as...I don't know...a sasquatch sighting?

Hey TM King, did you stop at 2.5 cause you were dying or just cause you were done? Great run!

From RivertonPaul on Tue, May 05, 2009 at 14:38:02 from 67.42.27.114

Rhett,

I stopped because, although I was not yet quite dying (although I think this was nearer true 5k pr pace than last week), I wasn't focused enough to simply keep going for the pr. I was too busy listening to the internal "don't risk injury, you're coming off a big day, why push it this close to Ogden, and other excuses etc." As soon as I stepped off, I realized what I had done and was mad at myself.

I hate that nasty inner voice that tells me those kind of things!! I try to supress it, but for some reason it get really loud when I'm tired :)

Nice job on the TM - I've decided I like running downhill (decline) at a fast tempo on the TM, so thanks for the suggestion!! Makes me look and feel fast :)

From Rhett on Tue, May 05, 2009 at 16:24:47 from 170.215.58.122

It was probably smart to listen to that inner voice so close to your goal race. I'm telling you, I'll never run hard within 2 weeks of a goal race again. It's disappointing to not get to go 100% on race day after all that preparation.

Maybe that is why I was so lazy yesterday I was just playing it safe!

Great run Paul, You are the true master of the treadmill!
