sorry I haven't blogged in a while. I am fighting PF in my right foot and metastarsalgia in my left foot to the point I can barely walk at times. I don't know how I developed either of these problems, I have never had problems with the soles of my feet before. So I  haven't been running much and have been experimenting with different shoes to see what will get me back on track. Meanwhile I have had a great summer with lots of camping traveling, reading books, home projects. I should feel bad I haven't run more, but I really don't. And with the injuries there isn't much I can do about that anyway. the miles for today are really a compilation of about all I have managed for the last 3.5 weeks with all my troubles. My goal now is to get my feet healthy, no races for awhile. I will try to put in about 4 miles a day this next week and see what happens. I am going to try running them in my hoka bondis to give me some more cushioning and see if that helps. they are actually a very cool shoe.

welcome back, scott. i'm sorry you have been dealing with injury, but it sounds like you have made the most of your summer enjoying other activities. good luck as you get back to running this week -- hopefully the hokas will be just what you need.

are you ready for another semester? just one week away...:)

Yuck. Sorry to hear about this Scott. Foot problems are not fun.

I hope you find what works for you ... one thing I have found that works ... in addition to wearing my night splint (http://www.footsmart.com/P-Plantar-FXT-30055.aspx)

is using an arch support band: http://www.footsmart.com/P-FootSmart-ArchHuggers-10085.aspx

it is cheap, and I think it helps.

I hope you have a wonderful semester!

thanks Allie and Bonnie. I will look into the support band and night splint, sounds like a good idea. I am not ready for this semester at all. I am in major procrastination mode. where did the summer go.

Hey Scott it is nice to see that you are moving and you got taller. I certainly don't miss school. I love learning but there is that homework thing that doesn't take so well.
