hiked up rattlesnake canyon to the top of wellsvilles. I can't believe Cody and Joe run that. I should have read this entry more carefully before going up there. At least I had long pants, my poor son's legs look like he got attacked by a cougar or something. I wouldn't try running this for anything.

I tried to warn you...sort of. It does get better on the ridge. Only minor pain inflicting brush there.

Cody, our original plan was to go all the way across and come down deep canyon. but we didn't get on the trail until noon. then we missed the turn to the trail off the jeep road (it is pretty poorly marked) and took a scenic spur two miles each direction out of our way. So we had an extra four miles once we backtracked. By the time we got to the top through all that brush it was getting late, I wasn't even sure if that was the right trail, and i was demoralized, so we tucked our tails and went back. But now I am just more committed to doing the whole thing!

Joe and I actually did the same thing with the turnoff. We just realized it in less than a quarter mile so no harm done. Now you know which way to go. No more excuses. Get 'er done
