I was a wreck by midway through this run. I don't know if it was the 80's hair-metal I was listening to, or the heat, or the headwind, or maybe the yummy pancake bricks my son made us for a late breakfast in bed. Whatever it was, I felt like a zombie runner by mile 5 and only finished in hopes of banking something for my long run with Preston on Friday. That and finishing a hard run is always more satisfying than finishing an easy one.

You can rule 80's hair-metal out. That can only make you feel good.

I hardly ever listen to music when I run. I think it gets my heart rate too high. I almost always listen to my Max McLean audio Bible when I run by myself.

Great job running with the pancakes in your belly!

burt is wrong. 80's hair-metal is sure to cause pain and suffering. try listening to bagpipes next time.

your splits do not indicate brick pancakes or any sign of trouble. great job, as usual.

Bagpipes might help my pace if they were behind me :)

Simple - it was the after-noon run. Your body was in shock.

Metal is good. Didn't help me today either though. I'll try it again tomorrow just to be sure.

Whatever it was, I hope I do better in the morning. My Friday long run got postponed til Saturday so we'll see how I do after two days rest. Wow, it's late! I should be sleeping right now!
