5:00am Preston ran my regular 8 mile route with me today. It was a good run and we averaged about the same pace as I usually run, only staring out much slower and steadily increasing the speed. It seemed harder than running a more consistent pace, but it felt good to change the routine too. I think I set a new pr for mile 6 going up Farwest hill. 4:30am I ran with Preston again today. This was a medium run day for me and he was going 20+ so we kept the pace a little slower than usual. I'll admit it felt good to slow down a little bit, but I was still antsy toward the end and picked up the pace once we separated. Normally Preston is pulling me along like an anchor. Either way, it is so nice to have someone to run with. | | 6:00am This remodel job is kicking my butt! I am sore in places I didn't even know I had. I can't believe how soft I have become since I quit "working" for a living and got into computers. Fortunately, my running muscles were still up to dragging the rest of my tired self around the neighborhood for eight miles. I need to get two more runs in, and get some rest this week before race day. Distance Split pace 1.00 7:15 2.00 7:23 3.00 7:08 4.00 7:14 5.00 7:13 6.00 7:34 7.00 7:02 8.00 6:54 8.07 6:59

| | 5:00am It was tough getting started today. It did get better after three miles except for the wicked headwind during mile 7. Now if I can just get some rest before Saturday, I might be ready for that 15k. Cutting base and door moldings today...still... I am so not a carpenter!

9:00am After 3 weeks of burning the candle at both ends and getting in very little mileage I was not ready to meet my goal (1:03) on this race. The first place guy in my division, Thaine Filkins passed me in the last mile and finished about 30 seconds in front of me. He was second to me in the January 10k so next month's 20k will determine who takes first for the series. I will need to ramp up my mileage for sure if I want to beat this guy. This was still a PR for me so I'm feeling good about that and looking forward to next month. Look out Thaine...

5:00am I ignored my garmin today and just tried to focus on controlled breathing and a strong last mile. My heart rate was way down compared to usual. I finished cutting the last piece of trim last night and returned my friend's chopsaw, painting is almost done, appliances will be delivered tomorrow and we move in this weekend!!

7:00am This is the first time I've ran four days in a row
since last summer and it was really hard to get motivated. I almost
convinced myself that I deserved a day off with all the moving and
everything, but then I imagined Thaine Filkins congratulating me on my second place finish in the upcoming 20k... needless to say I got motivated and ran. On
A "lighter" note, I weighed in at 161.2 after my run. I haven't been
that low since 10th grade. I think I need to eat more. ...back to the
move.... Distance Split pace
