Race: FSRC Resolution Run Series 15k (9.3 Miles) 01:04:15, Place overall: 20, Place in age division: 2
Total Distance
9.30

9:00am

After 3 weeks of burning the candle at both ends and getting in very little mileage I was not ready to meet my goal (1:03) on this race. The first place guy in my division, Thaine Filkins passed me in the last mile and finished about 30 seconds in front of me. He was second to me in the January 10k so next month's 20k will determine who takes first for the series. I will need to ramp up my mileage for sure if I want to beat this guy. This was still a PR for me so I'm feeling good about that and looking forward to next month. Look out Thaine...

Distance    Split pace
1.00    6:38 OK
2.00    6:33 too fast
3.00    6:51 too slow
4.00    6:37 where the heck is 6:45?
5.00    6:51 too slow
6.00    7:08 need oxygen
7.00    6:58 just hang on
8.00    6:58 still hanging on
9.00    7:28 there goes Thaine...
9.36    6:24 trying to finish strong

WOW!!! Incredible race, especially considering your "burning the candle at both ends."

Yes, LOOK OUT THAINE!!

Wow you have some competition!

Nice job! You gotta wear the flame shorts & shirt for the 20k! If that doesn't intimidate Thane, I don't know what will.

Thanks everybody. This remodel job on our new condo is taking it's toll on me for sure, but that's no excuse. I need to get serious and kick this guy's butt just like that old dude :)

Last year I did a faster pace on the 20 than I did on the 15... so my goal for next month will be 1:25:45 (6:54). That flaming shirt and shorts combo should buy me at least a few seconds per mile right?...

That's a long distance to keep up such an agressive pace. Good job, tho. You'll get that Thaine. I don't know him, but I hate him. lol!

From Snoqualmie on Tue, Feb 23, 2010 at 11:13:05 from 24.18.192.33

Congratulations! That's quite a race considering your less-than-100% condition. Go get him!
