I started to think today about some of the goals I would like to accomplish for the week and the only thing that came to mind was just running and hopefully not missing any days because of my on the mend injury! On a sad note, I sold my motorcycle yesterday it was hard seeing it drive off, but it had to done, maybe some day I will be able to get another one. I do want to run Loafer again and maybe go a little further up the canyon this week, and if my legs will let me I would like to do a long run of 10 plus miles on Saturday. I would also like to through in Harry's Hill too, but that might be pushing it just a bit! We went to the Salem Day's fireworks last night and it was pretty cool there was lightning going off along with the fireworks so it was quite a show, awesome!

Well that's about it, I hope everything goes well for this week...

See ya tomorrow.

I ran the Payson canal route out and back, my legs felt pretty tired and wore out! My hip area was a little sore, but tolerable in fact my last mile I picked up the pace a bit and it all most felt better at the faster pace which was kind of weird... My average pace was 9:12 and my heart rate monitor was a little out of wack, my first mile it said my heart rate was 195 which was wrong, but by the time I was finished it seemed to be working right and it said my average HR was 143 so I guess it was less than 140 if you take out that first mile. Total time was 47:28, I had a pretty quick mile on my last mile and it was 8:14 so that was kind of neat, that's about a minute off where I would like it to be, but I will get it back. I also did my upper body weight training, two sets of each exercise with at least 12 reps in each set.

That's about it,see ya tomorrow.

Well my goal this morning was to run out to mini GU corner and do my old out and back, I just wanted to take it easy. Groin area was a little sore, but again tolerable, I am hoping that I will be pain free by the end of the month, at least that is my fervent prayer anyway! My average pace was 9:13 with my heart rate average at 138, total time was 55:42. I did my 6 mile loop and then when I got home my son Ethan wanted to go out for a little half mile run I wasn't going to count this but since my heart was around 140 for the little run I thought I would count it. Ethan kept saying lets go faster dad, lets go faster so I had to real him in just a bit. Tomorrow I hope to do Loafer canyon and this time go a little further up, I also did my lower body weight training. 1 set of each exercise with at least 12 reps in each set, I also did some core training on the rubber-ball and some push-ups...

See ya tomorrow.

I ran Loafer canyon this morning and as I was going up I ran into Michelle so we joined up for most of the run. I was planning on going a little further today than I did last Wednesday, I was thinking I would go half way from the first stop sign and the Elk Ridge turn off, but we ended up going up to the Elk Ridge Turn off and I was pretty much dead by then. My breathing wasn't to bad unless your comparing yourself to Michelle who wasn't even breathing hard... My average pace was 9:17 with my heart rate at 146 and my total time was 55:38 for 5.77 miles, when I got home my son Ethan wanted to go for a half mile run so I took him out and again he doesn't no the meaning of slow I had to keep reeling him in! So it was a good run and I appreciate Michelle slowing down to join me up Loafer canyon, we had some good conversation. My groin was a little sore at the end but I am icing as we speak, so hopefully that will do the trick so I can run again tomorrow, no strength training today...

See you tomorrow.

I ran out towards mini GU corner but stopped a half mile short and then headed back for home, legs felt good going out but then on the way back they got tired, my groin was sore on the way back too... Other than that I felt pretty good this morning, my average pace was 9:09 with my heart rate average at 137 and my total time was 46:40. It is really good to be out running even though I am not at full strength, its good to be logging some miles. I also did my standard weight training on my legs 1 set of each exercise with at least 12 reps in each set, and then I finished up doing some crunches on the rubber ball and some push-ups...

See ya tomorrow.

I had a rough night last night so I slept in and I just barely was able to complete my run for the day. I had to try out my new toy the Garmin 405, and it worked pretty good no problems so far:-) It even wirelessly transfer-ed data to my computer like it said it would, the only problem was it said I ran on Saturday when I looked at in the Garmin connect program but on the watch it was correct, so not bad... My average pace was 9:15 with my heart rate average at 139 total time was 28:42, I hope to do a long run tomorrow but we will have to see how my groin is doing. I would have to give my rating on the Garmin 405 as a 4 stars out of 5, pretty close to a five I'm still not sure about the battery life and if I can power it of completely at night, but that is part of the fun trying to figure it out!

See ya tomorrow.

Well today was a good day, my legs felt really good starting out and I decided that I would run as long as my legs would let me! I wanted to keep my pace around 9:15ish and just cruise around but I had five of the miles that were really good so I will count those as MP miles even though they were about a minute off where I should be. Those went as follows; mile 5 8:30, mile 6 8:37, mile 9 8:33, mile 11 8:35, mile 12 8:09. Pretty good considering where I have been since coming back from my injury, if I improve as much over the next few weeks as I have for these first two weeks I should be okay:-) That last mile was really cool because I didn't feel like I was working any harder than the other miles, I seemed to get stronger as the run went on which I haven't been able to do since my injury. My average pace for the whole run was 8:42 with my heart rate average at 149 and total time was 1:45:22, I am hoping for things to continue to improve and I would like to do some tempo training in the up coming weeks to see if I can get some of my speed back. But of course that has to depend on how I am doing over all, but today was a good day, small victories are always fun!

See ya Monday.
