3 miles at 7 minute pace, then pre meet for tomorrow. Starts and 2X200. First 200 was a 30, didn't get the second one but it was right around there. Did a couple more miles to get to 6. Legs felt pretty tight, biked easy for 15 min to try to loosen them up

3 and a half mile warmup. Gun went off and I started off alright but ended up in last after the first 400, a 67. Got the legs going and closed in 65, got 4th. Raced pretty slow, felt like I could've gone at least 3 seconds faster. Didn't have the right mindset cuz the meet was about 9 frikin hours long and the 800 was third to last. Achilles flared up so I cut the warmup short to half a mile.

Today was not a good day to forget gloves and a beanie. It was freezing and hecka windy. Everyone stopped to stretch at 2 except for me Connor Baller and Josh. Right after that a dog started following us. It freaked us out cuz it was weaving in between us and we didn't know if it was going to eat us alive or be our best friend. He turned out to be really friendly so we named him Rusty and he ran with us for 4 miles. He waited while we went inside my house to warm up and eat some stuff. After that I looked at his collar and it said his name was Bazil so we called him that. We didn't know what to do with him and we didn't want to run back on state street cuz he might've gotten hit. So we just stopped by where we found him and he started going crazy around this house. We knocked in the door and he ran in, luckily it was the right house. So that was sick. Ran the 2 miles back to the high school and did 15 min on the bike

Felt worn out mentally and physically and the legs were heavy. Fought through it tho and still managed to stay on pace or faster for the most part. Cool down to 7 then 20 min on the bike.

The group went pretty slow today so me and Collin left them. Went down Sami's road but Collin turned around at 2.5 and I kept going by myself. Turned around at 4 and started going back. Today was the wrong day to not bring a jacket and I froze. So I used Watson's saying "the faster you run the sooner you're done." Checked out this "trail" but it ended up being someone's driveway lol. It warmed up and stopped snowing the closer I got to the high school which was nice. I decided to go back down through the pit to get to 9 but quickly found out that was the worst decision of the century. My shoes soon became 5 pound mud weights and I didn't want it to get worse so I climbed my way out up the side of the mountain, pretty adventurous I know. Really fast workout, glad I was mentally strong enough to keep fighting. Cooled down to 8 with .5 barefoot then biked home

Been eating cough drops like candy to keep from coughing up a lung. Got to the meet and did a 2 mile shakeout with Thom. Then watched the guys kill it in the mile. Warmed up 1.75 a little later. Not really nervous, just excited to see what I can do under my sickly condition. Checked in after second calls and almost missed the gun. Had to rip my sweats off and change into spikes as fast as I could, that got the adrenaline going. Gun went off and I settled in around 5th place, right where I wanted. Just chilled for the first mile, hit 72s and 73s. Moved up second mile and got pushed into Colton by a dumb Davis guy in the process. That got me going, but wait it gets better. With 3 laps to go, the back of my shoe gets stepped on (come to find out it was Thom haha) and my heel comes out. I manage to keep it on for that lap but get sick of it so I fling it off and run the last 2 laps with one shoe. Second place going into the last 200 and realize I can catch him with about 50 meters to go. Barely outkick him and get first. Ended up with a 9:35.99, qualifying for state by .07 of a second. Happy with the performance but know I can go faster. Cooled down to 9 on the turf while watching the 4X800, good first invitational

So we got some pretty sick medals. My split was 4:25, slowest split on the team but I'm really happy with where our team finished. Proud of all the guys, especially Collin who has run huge PR's the last 2 races. Know I could've run harder, I was too conservative at the start and had some left when I finished. Was there mentally just didn't challenge the limits physically. Not the time or performance I was looking for at Arcadia but this race wasn't about me, it was about the team and we killed it together. 4.5 mile cool down.

Thanks for the sick run!

10.5 miles by myself with pre meet on the road. Went to AF and ran around the golf course. It was really pretty and it reminded me of why I love running. Didn't start feeling good until after mile 3 but after that I was going at a comfortable pace. 400s were hard but slow because I'd already ran 8 miles. Got back to the high school and did some starts on the track. Biked for 10 minutes. Feel like I've picked up the training successfully and my body if feeling good so I'm excited to keep it rolling. Mile tomorrow, ready to throw down

Did a 2 mile shakeout with some pickups during class then biked 5 min. Got to the meet and warmed up 1.5 miles. 20mph wind and under 45 degrees made for a tough race. Got out where I needed to and chilled there for two laps. Then Collin made a move and I let him go. Kept grinding and passed Joe and Zack in the last lap, Collin got me by half a second. Hard race, didn't really draft because of my position and felt kinda tired and slow. It was ok tho for the conditions. Cooled down to 10 on the Murdock canal trail I think

Drove to the Herriman trails with my bro to run. Pounded up this monstrous mountain the first mile then went right back down it. Ran up the infamous motha cussa and pushed hard for the half mile that I died when we raced the course. Picked it up the last few miles and ended up being 7:35 average pace. Felt good except for stomach problems towards the end. Really like the trails there, want to go back and go farther on some of them. Wish I could go on trail runs everyday

Drove to Dimple Dell Park with Collin, Guppy, and Dallin. Ran on the trails there and it was fun to have a sick group. The trails are epic with some nice hills to get the quads burning. Took it pretty easy the first 7 miles and picked it up the last 2, 6:45 and 5:50 (strides). Saw Alta so that was cool. Checked the spring and it's still not on :( Went to Roxberry for smothies then did abs and hips. Upper body later tonight

3 mile warmup and strides. Workout was 12X400, first 4 slower than mile pace, next 4 at mile pace, last 4 faster. Rest was 2:30, 2:45, 3:00 and 4 in between sets. First 4 were 68s and 69s. Next four were 65s and a 66. Last four were 63, 62, 61, 61. Jogged a 400 in between everything. Felt really good, first 2 sets were comfortable, last one hurt but I pushed through. Confidence just keeps building. 1.5 mile cool down then 10 min on the bike, abs, and lower body.

Did a loop with Thom that hit Lone Peak and AF high school, ended up being longer than I thought. About 11 miles then strides to get to 11.5, 7:00 avg pace. Felt pretty great not sore or anything. My body has been taking this season's workouts and mileage really well. Biked 20 min with one set of 5 min 50%, 1 min all out, 5 min 60%, 1 min all out. Took it a little harder so it was probably about 70, 80 percent. Did some wall sits then upper body lifting

12 min biking during class, watched some of Little Rascals so that was fun. My dad came and picked me up and me and my bro went trail running in Saratoga. It was sick, 2 huge hills but other than that pretty gradual. 8 miles at 7:30 average including 4X1/10 mile buildups. Slightly downhill on those, really got the legs moving and worked on turnover. Stretched and rolled out

3 mile warmup then some strides at the pit. Did one 400 there, jogged to the cemetery and did one there, 64 and 65. Cooled down to 7.5 with 3 "starts" on the road. Biked for 5 min

2 mile warmup. A little windy and cold but no rain yet. Got out good and worked to hear the front but went out in a 70 again. Tried to make up time, move up and kick but that didn't work very well. Barely outkicked Justin from Lone Peak to get 4th. Legs felt flat and tired, couldn't really get moving. I also need to recognize when the race is going out slow and take the lead if I need to because I hate races when it comes down to the kick. Started to cool down but they were doing awards so I had to go back and get my medal, then finished to 2 miles. Sat around for a while, got some gold sunglasses, a headband, and a poster all for free from Brooks, that was sick. Then warmed up a mile for the 4X800. I led off and got in an okay position, passed a couple people and ended up in third, 2:03. Felt strong, had a lot of adrenaline before and during. Happy with the time and effort in the rain and after the mile. And our team finished third and got medals! No cool down after just cleaned up and went home.

Ran by myself cuz everyone else was going hecka slow. Did a pretty hilly run, including airport, the dip, killers, and the pit. Felt good after the first 2 miles, did some strides towards the end. Average pace for the 10.5 was 6:50, good training today. Biked for 20 min with 1 set of 5 min hol climb, 5 min downhill. Rolled out and lifted upper body with Austin

2.5 mile warmup. Workout was 3 sets of 300, 200, 100 at 800 pace with 90 sec rest and 5 min in between sets. Went kinda fast cuz Collin and Kris were pacing at about 1:50 pace. So that got me mad, good thing tho because my legs were feeling tired today so that got me motivated. Splits were 44, 30, 14, 43, 29, 14, 43, 28, 13. Still fired up on the cool down, so I went sub 7 for 4 out of 5.5 cool down miles. Biked for 20 min with 1 set 90, 60, 30 with 90 sec rest. Squats, calf raises, and lunges after.

Went trail running with Tyson. Found a sick trail by AF canyon. Had some crazy hills and a huge mountain at the end, switchbacks up that and it was killer. That mile ended up being 11:15. Turned around and found our way back, surprisingly cuz there were a bunch of different trails. Sketchy run, really rocky and there were multiple parts along the mountainside that I couldn't look down. Also there was freshly burned firewood on this lookout and a cave with a water bottle in it so that was freaky. Did 4X1 min pickups on the road with 1 min rest when we got back. 8:50 average for 10 miles, quads and hampstrings are painfully sore already. Fun run, got the heart rate up and really good hill training.

Drove up Provo Canyon to Deer Creek Resevoir/State Park. Ran on the trail by there and brought back some memories from XC camp. It's a really sick trail cuz it has a nice view of the lake and the mountains. Saw an angry goose that was hissing and looked like it was about to attack us. Waved to the people on a train and one lady waved back so that was cool. Nice, easy run, sick to run on trails with my bro even though I basically just talk his ear off. He held up great today, averaged 7:15 pace. He's leaving on Saturday for Oklahoma to work for the summer, I'm going to miss these kinds of runs with him. We're going tomorrow tho for the last time before he leaves

Last trail run with my bro before he leaves for the summer. Went to Dimple Dell in Sandy. Third time running there, this time was by far the best. Did a backwards loop around the whole park then went under the bridge and did a little out and back to get to 8. Each mile was faster then the previous one, starting out with 8:10 and finishing sub 7 with 2X200 for pre meet, around 32-33. Average pace for the run was 7:20. Felt comfortable and relaxing, really beautiful scenery and cool trails, love the hills too. Going to miss these kinds of runs with my bro but hopefully I can do them with teammates. Perfect way to spend my last day with Tyson before he flies out tomorrow

Warmed up 2.5 miles with Dallin. Got out good near the front and held that for the first lap. Tried to go the second lap but wasn't feeling it, legs felt tired. Gave it everything and outkicked a guy at the end. Not the time or place I was looking for. Cooled down 7 miles with Collin, 1 barefoot. Went to Runners Corner and picked up some form books that Hawk recommended, one of which hasn't been published so I'm marking it up, stoked for that. Had Prom tonight, definitely the highlight of today

Went to the Provo River Trail with Collin, Guppy, and Sami. They were only doing 5-6 miles today so I only ran 2.5 easy miles with them and did the rest by myself. Another progressive run starting at 7:45 and ending at 6:25 with a 5:40 tenth mile, including 4 strides, 6:55 average for the whole run. Felt really controlled, one of those runs where I didn't want to turn around. Beautiful trail even though it is paved, I love the trees on both sides and the mountains. Wanted to branch of onto Bonneville shoreline but We have speed tomorrow and the others were waiting. Felt a little pain in my left foot/ankle on the way back but nothing to be worried about. Got back and ice bathed. Hung out with Sami for a little, since Collin and Guppy are dating and they're awkward. Sami is super cool tho so that was fun. Went to my house after and made grilled cheese and ate cereal. Best Sami in ping pong so apparently shes making me a bracelet. Great day

2.5 mile warmup, drills and strides. Workout was 2 sets of 200, 800, 400, 200, 200, 200 with 90 sec rest and 4 min in between sets. 200s were at 800 pace, 400s at mile, 800s at 2 mile. Felt really good, form felt great and breathing was good, mentally strong. Legs felt tired during the warmup but fine during the workout. Splits were 29, 2:15, 65, 30, 30, 29 and then 30, 2:15, 65, 31, 30, 29. Satisfied with those, especially the 800s. Just stayed with Connor and he paces amazing. Cooled down to the cemetery and did a mile on the grass there and then back to the high school. Found a ladybug on me while I was in the cemetery bathroom, that's a first, I don't know what happened to it tho, it could still be on me. After I got back I biked for 25 min with 1 set of 1 min, 4 min, 2 min, 1 min with 90 sec rest. Lifted lower body with Austin

Biked for 20 with 6 min uphill, 6 min downhill. Did some upper body and stretched, hips and glutes are sore from yesterday's lifting. More upper body tonight and maybe a jump rope workout.

Drove to Art Dye Park with Collin and ran around there. First mile I led Collin on a wild goose chase on these trails and through these weeds, I had no idea what I was doing but it was fun. Except for when I slid down the hill, but no worries the tree stopped me before I died. And then I got whacked by a stick in the ground somehow on my Achilles. Yeah that mile was like 9 minutes. Did some on the golf course, there was a lot of people but we didn't get yelled at so it was a success. After that my Achilles started bugging me so I rolled it out a little when we got back to the car. Finished up the last 2 miles and did strides, rolled out. Achilles felt better, hoping it was just from the twig because I haven't had any problems this whole season. It was just really tight and burning but my calf felt loose, kinda weird but not worried

Warmed up 1.5ish then strides. Felt really good before. Gun went off and I got out and led the first 200 cuz I didn't want to come through in a 70 and no one else was taking it. Came through first 400 in 63 which was good ended up in about 8th and stayed there until the last lap when I moved to 4th. Finished in 4:21 and I was so hyped. I felt so strong and controlled during the race, I think mostly because I was focusing a little more on form and I stayed mentally tough. Goal was to go 4:22 and qualify for state so I'm happy I got that. Finally had a break through race and feel like the hard work is paying off. Confident I can go under 4:20 and 9:25 at state. Cooled down to 9 miles with Thom. Probably won't race at region since there's a pretty small chance I'll qualify in the 800.

Legs felt heavy and calves were really sore today. I think it's because of the form book I just read and I might've been trying to hard to do what it said when my form is actually pretty good already. So I just ran normal today, no worries. Was going to do killers but like I said I was not feeling good so I decided to do a lap around the pit which was awful because of construction and rain recently. After that adventure, did a mile and a half of speed changes around the upper cemetery grass, 5:50 average pace. Did a couple laps around the cemetery, grass felt good on the legs, back to the high school and finished to 9 on the turf. Biked for 30 min with 3 sets of 1 min on, 1 min off, 2 min on, 2 min off. Lifted upper body. Didn't have a lot of energy today, rough day

Got back to the parking lot and ran around searching for a bathroom, finally found one so that was good. Did a mile up the Battle Creek trail, about 10 minutes for that one then 7:45 for the one down to the truck. Really hard run, lots of hills so I was breathing hard, average was 8:55. Good place to train, want to go back this summer

Average was 7:00. Not my favorite run because of all the cars and mostly sidewalk but I don't mind, we never really go that way. Rode our bikes from there to Murdock, went out to the cemetery past 1600 N in Orem and back. Ate at the Hinckleys then iced and ride home, about 35 miles on the bike today. Kept moving but had to run in lanes 2 and 3 for basically the whole race. Went for it the last lap but ended up getting outkicked by some people the last 100. Didn't ride the bus so I could get more sleep. Warmed up a mile and a half, wasn't as nervous as yesterday. Gun went off and I got out to where I wanted to be, near the back but still within striking distance. Hung there for about 3 laps then slowly started picking people off and getting back to the inside. Kicked really hard and passed some more people to finish 8th. Good race, focused on smiling and enjoying the moment. Might've been a little too conservative but happy with the 3 sec PR at elevation, especially after racing yesterday. Also scored is a point so that was cool. Cooled down with my bro at the indoor track through in 4 fast laps at different points, last speedy running of the season. Good season, happy with the 9 seconds off my mile and the 9:14 I ran at Arcadia. Feel like I enjoyed this seasons training the most out of any seasons so far. Excited to get stronger and faster this summer for XC

Biked the long way to the Hinckleys, then we rode to AF on the roads. Pretty spontaneous bike ride, we had no idea where we were going it was fun. On the way back, Austin offered me his extra gloves cuz it was cold so I took them. Picked it up in the gradual downhill, my gears are stuck in the middle 7 so I was pedaling to fast, going around 25 mph. Foot slipped off the pedal and hit the tire I think. Lost control, hit the curb and went down. Braced fall with my hand then slid across the road face first. Both elbows and hips and one hand got scraped up bad. It's a good thing I had those gloves (which got shredded) because my hand would have been a lot worse without them. Luckily nothing's injured, my body just stings. Soaked and put hydrogen peroxide and neosporin on it, hopefully nothing gets infected. Not biking anymore this week and my road bike is trashed anyway. 22 miles today, 117 this week.

Got 4 min rest in between sets then coach said to either drop the pace down or shorten the rest. Found coach and went back down, it was way muddy, rocky, snowy so that was sketch. Raced a little towards the end when it got flatter. 1:30 for .35 mi, 4:17 pace, coach would've beat me but he stopped haha. Finished to 6.5, 10:30 avg pace. Hardest but most rewarding run I've done.
