| | Mile warmup. Ran to the bottom of the dip and on the trails around there. Didn't realize how many there were and they all have sick names like Machete, Adrenaline, Shotgun, and this one that sounded Indian. Pretty fun until the I went back to toward the road and saw a deer that was as flat as a pancake on the ground. Supposed to be recovery today but I'll do that when I'm dead.

| | Mile warmup. Workout was 3X2 mile with 2 min rest. Hit 10:50, 10:47, 10:35. Not too hard, we did it over the overpass and up 900 N so that was good. 2 and a half mile cool down.

| | Dad dropped me off at South Fork, mile warmup then recovery on the road both ways from the gate and then up Mackenzie to the cabin. It was light when I started but it got dark fast. Only saw one deer and almost stepped on a dead raccoon, jumped at every noise and thing that looked alive.

| | Mile warmup with Ty then long run up the mountain. All the leaves have fallen off the trees and there was snow which was weird but cool. Came back down and did 3X400 at mile pace with full recovery. Cool down up Lewis and Clark. Total elevation gain/loss was 1800 ft, max elevation was 8600 ft.

| | 4 hours of sleep and no lunch made for a fun run. Mile warmup. Up Summer Crest Dr and then down into the dip trails and ran around there for a couple miles, saw some skyridge girls. Went up the other side of the dip and looped down center st back to the high school. 6:33 avg pace

| | Mile warmup. Drills then ran to killers. Workout was 8 repeats up from change in pavement to change in pavement, rest was jog back down. First 4 were supposed to be around 1:30, hit 1:17, 1:23, 1:25, 1:30. Next 4 were supposed to be progressively faster, 1:22, 1:22, 1:15, 1:07. Then coach said to keep going until you get one slower so the ninth was 1:03. Fatigue hit on the tenth and I got 1:09. Cool down around the pit with Brecken and Ty.

| | Mile warmup with Kaity. Recovery with a couple pickups at the end, a little long but that's ok. Went down to the lake and ran some trails around there then looped back to the high school. Coach ran with me for a mile and we talked about footlocker and next year it was great.

| | Woke up with pink eye so I just turned in a project and went to math first period then drove home. Biked back to the school for practice. Warmup and drills then a mile easy. Workout was 800, 1200, mile, 1200, 800, mile, all at 5K pace. Rest was 2 min after the 800s, 3 min after the 1200s, and 4 min after the mile, all active. We did it on the track and a loop on the baseball field. Splits were 2:28, 3:40, 4:52, 3:37, 2:25, 4:55. Stomach didn't feel too great but I managed. 2 and a half mile cool down then biked home. Retiring the kinvaras.

| | Me and Ty planned on doing squaw peak but there was hecka traffic because of the BYU game so we just went to Highland. Ran in the riverbed, on some trails, and up and down part of suncrest. Only got 7 miles in before Ty had to go to his date so 10 min break then finished up with 5 miles.

| | Mile warmup and drills. 4 miles easy then started the workout. 800, 200, 1000, tempo, 1000, 200. The 800 was slow, 2:20, then 3 min rest, 32 for the 200, 3:30 rest, 2:55 for 1000, then 3 mile tempo up and down airport. Splits for that were 5:20, 5:27, 5:17, got 2 seconds slower than my dream maker PR on the way up so that's great. Then 4 min rest, 1000 in 2:53, 3:30 rest, 32 for the 200. The rest was nice. 1 mile cool down

| | Luke ran with me for 3 and a half miles, we went around some trails by his house then he started having breathing problems so he told me to go ahead. Ran down pioneer crossing for a little then back. Good stretch after. Forgot to give a shoutout to my hero from yesterday, a little boy pushing his friend in a wheelchair up airport while we were doing our tempo, what a stud

| | First snow day, but it was just light snow off and on throughout. Mile warmup then dip to timpanogos highway then a trail in Highland. Wanted to see how far/where it went but I knew I was already going to be over mileage so I turned around. Started to feel pretty crappy around mile 6 but as my friend Asa would say I just kept grindin. 6:35 avg pace.

| | Mile warmup. 2 miles easy, drills and strides. 3200m time trial. Came through the first mile in 4:45, finished in 9:26.37, unofficial altitude PR and school record. Pretty happy with it considering I didn't have competition. 4 and a half mile cool down, saw a huge dog with the longest skinniest legs ever, a sign that said speed limit 14 mph, and an old couple with railroad crossing lights in their front yard. Weirdest cool down of my life
Forgot to add that after the time trial coach gave me 3 min rest then had me do a mile of speed changes, 5:35

| | Drove to the Murdock canal with Kaity. Warmed up with her then went to the gas station on center street. Turned around and saw some skyridge girls on the trail, miss having them as teammates. Hit up the dip trails on the way back, they were a little muddy but not bad. Got back to the park and did a little more going the other way. Forgot my watch so I just ran for 55ish minutes, 8ish miles. Maintained the uphills and pushed the downhills, just like footlocker

| | Mile warmup. 2.5 easy miles. Workout was 2 sets of 600, 500, 300. 200, 200, 300, 500, 600 with 90 sec active rest in between. First set splits were 1:43, 1:26, 51, 35, 34, 51, 1:24, 1:44. Got 4 min rest in between sets then coach said to either drop the pace down or shorten the rest. Started the 600 and people on the track were kinda ticking me off so of course I dropped the pace, rest stayed the same. Second set splits were 1:38, 1:24, 48, 32, 31, 47, 1:22, 1:37. Really feeling it on the last 500 and 600, happy with those splits. 4 miles during the workout, 2.5 mile cool down.

| | Coach said to do the workout on hills so drove to Saratoga. Mile warmup from Westlake and 2 miles easy then workout on Pony Express Parkway/Trail to Frontier Middle School in Eagle Mountain. Fartlek was 2, 5, 7, 2, 8, 3 (minutes) with 50% recovery at distance pace. Hit .38 for 2 min, .95 for 5:00, 1.43 for 7:00, .42 for 2:00, 1.57 for 8:00, and .62 for 3 min. 10K in 34:10. Whole workout was 7.25 in 40 min, 5:30 avg pace. There were some nasty hills so I'm pretty happy with the effort. 2 mile cool down.
I'm grateful for my parents, coach, and teammates and for the opportunity God has given me to run

| | Camping trip near Green River. Drove to a wash to hike, 7 miles. Planned to run it but it was wet and sandy so I ran 2 miles and walked the rest, 6:45 then 6:35. Got back to the truck and ran 6 more on the dirt road. Pretty sick rolling hills, 6:40 average pace.

| | Drove to horsehoe canyon and started hiking. Realized that the trail was too rocky and confusing to run so I hiked for a little then went back to the truck. Ran 7 on the dirt road, pretty flat for the most part. 6:52 avg pace

| | Drove to Highland trail with Kaity. 6:30 mile then 6 flat then my watch died so I ran for 30-35 more minutes. Trail doesnt go very far so I went on Alpine Highway for a little too. Snow was sick, felt fresh today-or cold

| | Mile warmup and drills. 2 miles easy to and around the upper cemetery. Strides then started the workout. 800, 1000, 1 mile, 1000, 1000 all with 90 sec rest except 2 min after the 800. 800 was 2:15, 1000 in 2:55, 4:45 for mile, 1000 in 3:02. At this point I was pretty exhausted so I didn't know how the last 1000 was gonna be. Pushed through and hit 2:50. Good simulation for last mile of the race and huge confidence builder to hit that split when I was feeling drained. 1.5 mile cool down, talked to Michael for a little, he's a great guy
