Downpours and showers on and off throughout the run

The run had a lot of starts and stops due to the weather conditions. It is really hard for me to access my stamina when I am resting between mileage.
My new shoes did a good job addressing the narrowness of the Ghost 9's on my toes. I still feel a lot of hard strikes with my heel. I feel that I need more cushioning at the heel.

My son met me at mile 11. We ran together until 15.5 miles.
I picked up my pace after we went our separate ways.
I was encouraged that I could increase my speed after running slow for 4 1/2 miles. I was disappointed with how long it takes to slash time from your overall pace.
It was a good learning session to make sure that my first half of a marathon is not too slow. Also, I learned that I can push myself after mile 18.
