- I am not happy with my slow overall pace for the last two days. I think that not being accepted into the 2018 Boston Marathon is affecting my motivation and drive to push myself to faster paces. I really need to snap out of my funk.

- I set out to run 22 miles. I am running in PA at my daughter's home. It was more humid than I expected. I also did not know the area so I was not very adventurous. Boredom set in quickly. I also finished my hydration sooner than anticipated.
- I thought that at mile 14, I would run to her house and refill my bottles. Unfortunately, I spent the next two miles being lost. i kept making a circular loop, but could not figured out how to locate her street.
- I finally had to stop and call her from work. By this time, I had a long delay. I was two blocks from her home. My legs were done. I was dehydrated. I called it quits for a 22 mile run.

- I am finding it very difficult to quicken my pace while running in an unknown town. Today, I found myself stopping constantly at busy intersections. I am also very foucused at trying not to get lost.
- I worry that I have lost my mojo since not getting into Boston. I have a marathon in a month. I feel as if my running is imploding and I can not fix it.

- I was happy getting 20 miles in this morning. I am still in PA so running in an unknown area is tricky to navigate.
- I had a lot of stops and starts throughout the 20 miles. I had to gather my bearings, refuel my hydration, and confirm my flight assignment. My legs did not respond well to this, but I managed to push through any way.
- I won a $100 gift card at my last race. I need to invest in a new air of shoes. The Brooks Ghost 9 are just not working for me. My feet constantly hurt.

- The run had a lot of starts and stops due to the weather conditions. It is really hard for me to access my stamina when I am resting between mileage.
- My new shoes did a good job addressing the narrowness of the Ghost 9's on my toes. I still feel a lot of hard strikes with my heel. I feel that I need more cushioning at the heel.

- My son met me at mile 11. We ran together until 15.5 miles.
- I picked up my pace after we went our separate ways.
- I was encouraged that I could increase my speed after running slow for 4 1/2 miles. I was disappointed with how long it takes to slash time from your overall pace.
- It was a good learning session to make sure that my first half of a marathon is not too slow. Also, I learned that I can push myself after mile 18.

- The air temperature was significantly colder than I expected. The tips of my fingers were numb and white even with my running gloves and my shirt sleeves pulled over my hands. This may be an issue at next weekends marathon. Race temperatures are predicting to be similar.
- I was hoping for a better, more encouraging run going into my final week.
