| Member Since: Nov 27, 2016 Gender: Male Goal Type: Other Running Accomplishments: I have run 12 marathons, 5 since major surgery in 2005. My fastest was Leipzig in 1992. 3 hours 11 minutes 48 seconds. The Mesa-Phx Marathon on February 25, 2017 was the fastest since my surgery at 4:26:59. Short-Term Running Goals: I want to improve on my last Marathon time. After the Phoenix Marathon that I ran February 25, 2017 I want to focus on shorter races and do a sprint tri. I did improve about 45 minutes faster on the Mesa-Phx Marathon over the last Petrified Forest Marathon and about 27 minutes faster than the last time I ran the Mesa-Phx Marathon. Long-Term Running Goals: Continue to run and work on my speed. Do shorter races and a sprint tri in the next year. Personal: I have been an educator for 32 years. My wife, Margaret, and I have 6 children and at the present time 6 grandchildren. Running helps to keep me level. I love it and hope to continue to run for many years to come. Favorite Blogs: |

| AM run. I ran to Becker Lake and met Margaret and Micah and Kaylonnie to paddle board and kayak. Was 84 degrees out when I left. 15 mph wind blowing into me most of the way. 9:51, 9:20, 9,40 and 9:38 with 2 sec to finish. HR 129 with max of 138. Ran hard on the downhills. |

| AM hilly run. Stopped in 6th mile to visit a brother To whom I minister. Was stopped for 19 minutes. My left foot got stiff so my sixth mile was a little slower than it should have been. 77 degrees out with slight wind. 1:14:52 with 10:24 pace. 10:29, 10:20, 10:57, 10:59, 9:59, 10:18, and 9:53 with 1:58 to finish. HR 121 with max of 133. |
