I ran the Liz Hurley 5k this morning in Huntsville Al. There was 545 runners and I was in the middle of the pack. When the race started I had to walk the first 50 feet. The whole first mile I had to slow down and speed up a lot weaving through people. I got a little gassed at the 2.3 mile mark and got a side stinch. I tried to pick it up at the end with a nice down hill. My garmin showed 24:14 although the official time was 24:28. Probably because of the chip timing and starting 75 feet before the starting line. I started my garmin when I crossed the starting line.owed

Good run Mike, that start is bad with all those people in front of you who should've lined up behind you, hard to get into a good rhythm.

Solid run, Mike. I know how frustrating having to weave through people can be, but sometimes you just have to treat that first mile as an "extra warmup mile" and try to get into your groove once the crowd thins out. Again, congrats.

Great job Mike. You might have PR'd if it wasn't for the walking at the beginning.
