Long run today and the weather was much better.40 degrees and a light south wind.

I got a pretty tired today, I wonder if I need to take a rest day the day before my long run. Yesterday I ran 7.5 and felt great. Also does does anyone have any advice on running socks?

I seem to be using trail socks more and more exclusively as time goes on. In addition to being moisture-wicking, they tend to be a little thicker than normal running socks (e.g. DeFeet, Thorlos, etc), but they provide a little extra cushioning. I also notice that whereas the trail socks seem to keep my feet noticeable warmer during winter running, I don't seem to notice my feet being kept particularly warm during the summer months. My brands of choice are Smartwool and Wigwam, alternating between which one I like more. Good luck finding a good pair of socks; they can be key.

Solid miles, by the way.
