Swim has been getting better all this week, but I feel I had a massive breakthrough today. Ok, so you are not impressed with my 350meter race time at Telos..I was very fatigued. That was an 8:12. Horrifically slow. At Icebreaker 4 weeks prior (Swim was first as traditional) I swam a 5:46 300meter. Well today, for example, I swam a 300yd (yes yards and meters are not the same) warmup, Warmup, yes warmup..lol..in 5:12. Effortless. The rest of the swim continued on this way.  All of my swim intervals I shaved off tons of time...Seconds are Centuries on swim. My mind and body made a connection with the water.

Swam 4000yds (2.272727273miles..lol), feels so different now. I could have swam 2000yds more, it felt so easy. This is freaking awesome. My bike is feeling it's at a breakthrough as well. I'm learning the Power in these two new ranges of motion.

Also got my wetsuit tonight (Yamamoto GIGA # 40 neoprene)...Squeeeee!

You've been working so hard and deserve these big break throughs!

Open water swim....yikes...hope the fishes don't bite your toes :)

Hi Toby, Thanks! :D I updated my entry and put a screenshot of my workout in if you are curious what the swim workout was like...

With the open water swim, I am preparing for the worst...so I might be surprised it's funner than I plan for...hehe.

Ready for kicks in the face...

Lost goggles...who needs um...

Scary monsters in the lake...fish touching me...

Wetsuit suffocating me...

Inhaling water...

Did I miss anything? Haha.

OH, finishing last. :P

Nice swimming! I must say swimming is tough and I don't like doing it, since staring at the bottom is a bit dull! So good work. Plus swimming tends to be more about technique, unlike running just doing more doesn't make you better after a point...

I think you need to practice elbowing the people who kick you in the face 'accidently'

Missy! Yay I'm so happy to see your drastic improvements on everything. You are superwoman! The pro's better watch out! Keep up the great work Missy! All this hard work is going to pay off for sure. I'm just happy to be your number 1 fan!

Thanks Chris. :D Just thinking about this race...3 weeks out..I have adrenaline running this a.m. This is nuts.

About staring at the bottom of the pool...Mahogani was saying talking about Heath's swim..how he swims with his eyes closed..I was like...WHAT? I was like..why does he swim with his eyes closed..that would be freaking...I might try that some next week..haha. She said she thinks so he can "feel" the water, and that maybe he doesn't like to see what is at the bottom (of a lake or ocean).

It just fascinated me since I have seen him swim..his stroke is absolutely gorgeous...it's like watching a god swimming. You would immediately spot him out of 100 swimmers in a pool...he looks that fluid. I like to call him Poseidon. Odd to think Poseidon swims with his eyes closed..:)

Awww Vinh you always make me smile..I feel like a dork here in my chair grinning so big...lol. The crazy thing is there will be Pro's at this race. There were 3 Pro's in the top 5 last year on the female side. :D

Missy- Were you watching high school boys again at the pool? 4000 yards of swiming? Hardcore!

From missy on Thu, Apr 29, 2010 at 22:55:45 from 71.32.194.28

Yep and Yep Scott. :D ...Today I swam only 2050yds..was over and done with so fast. Tomorrow I head to St.George to open water swim with my coaches group (his athletes are getting their feet wet before Saturday's Ironman.) It will be interesting to see how I do..a lot of people have a freak out session in their first open water swim experience.
