Started off 11:15a.m. Swimming 3800yds.

Took kids to swim team practice at 4pm. Sometimes my coach is there swimming. I was upstairs and had a really good view of the pool, lanes were set up along the 50meter length. (Sometimes it's set short.) I was pretty astounded, his freestyle is absolutely beautiful. It's pretty. I need to video him swimming..haha. He has a near perfect freestyle..amazingly fast and effortless.

Didn't hit the bike till 7:15pm. Hit the warmup outside, then intervals (Hill simulation) on the trainer indoor, and again cooldown outside until it was too dark. 90 Minutes Bike.

Stretched Legs 23minutes while watching a swim video of Karlyn Pipes-Neilson. She has in interesting crab/spider like freestyle. She is fast tho. :D

Later, My daughter walks in my bathroom and grabs my hand..."Woah!" "Wait here, I need to send a picture of this to Chelsea!" So she comes and takes a picture of my hand..haha. Young people think veins are just crazy I guess.

So she texted a picture of my hand to her friend. I wonder how many people will see this picture..haha. Ugh.

Missy! So I've been swimming a lot more lately. I'm making decent progress =) Been watching a lot of you tube videos on technique. You definitely gotta get a vid of your coach swimming. I wanna see what a perfect freestyle looks like.

Gross! Are you sitting on the pot?

From missy on Wed, Apr 21, 2010 at 17:02:10 from 75.162.124.171

You are ahead of the Game Vinh! I just started watching video's last night and this a.m. I am frustrated to say the least (with my swimming.) My coaches time requirements on my intervals make me want to cry. This a.m. I had some progress tho. ...We might have to switch you over to Triathlon Vinh..mwa ha ha...Did you register for SG? I still need to.

Burt...no I'm on the counter U nerd...lol. Nevermind the short short PJ bottoms..haha. I get too hot at night..And I hate clothes..they feel yucky on my skin. I wear workout clothes or pj's 95% of the time. I know you wanted to know that. :)

lol Missy, no tris for me. At least for a while. I'm not even close to being ready to compete. I'll only start tris if I know I can dominate like Missy! I registered for SGM already. You better get to it! I want us both to run a sub 3:10!

From Scott Wesemann on Thu, Apr 22, 2010 at 12:08:45 from 66.239.250.209

I think we have the exact same veins in our arms/hands. I should send you a pic (although it won't be from the bathroom) haha.

From missy on Fri, Apr 23, 2010 at 00:24:58 from 75.162.124.171

Hi Vinh. :D I just talked with my coaches this a.m. and Yes, I can include SGM. So I will register maybe tomorrow.

I am sure they will include some good 20 milers to help prepare me for St. George, we didn't really discuss those details, but I have an "A" race last week of August, a half Iron Distance, and that is where my training focus will be.

So, I won't have a pure Marathon focus until after that race is complete, by then tho, I should be tapering for St. George. It will be interesting to see how they balance all my races. One particularly interesting note, they felt I could roll out another half Iron distance 3 weeks following SGM. We shall see. :)

Anywayz..yes lets go for sub 3:10. I know we both can do that. :)

SCOTT! That is so wicked funny. My veiny hands are particularly prominent when I am hot. They shrink back in when cold..haha. Also If I eat a lot of sugar my veins pop like crazy. You should see the ones that pop in my forehead. I think it looks insane. :)

From vinh on Fri, Apr 23, 2010 at 07:28:15 from 75.77.22.187

OH wow you are gonna have a busy Summer of training! I think after your half ironman in Aug, you'll have a few solid weeks of training for St. George. I think a 1 1/2 - 2 week taper is fine for me. 3 weeks is just torture. I think my plan for St. George this time is to make sure I run a negative split. Maybe a 1:35-1:40 first half, and just kill it the second. Lol, I'm saying all this when I don't even know if I even get in. I hope we both get in....=(

From Kelli on Sat, Apr 24, 2010 at 00:16:28 from 71.219.75.178

Hey, I did not know there was anyone out there who had veins that stick out like mine do!! So glad i am not alone, I always thought I had freaky hands!!!

From missy on Sat, Apr 24, 2010 at 00:35:13 from 75.162.124.171

Vinh..think lucky thoughts..where is Sammie when we need luck. Hehe. Negative splits would be a good goal for me as well. I don't think I have EVER raced negative splits. I agree on the 3 week taper, It feels lame..lol.

Kelli, we need to get a picture of your hands, my hands, an scotts hands together..haha. In the bodybuilding community they all think veins are cool. :D My friend Sunny's traithlete hubby is so vascular...his Quads have popping veins. Now that is fierce...Haha.

From Kelli on Sat, Apr 24, 2010 at 10:29:20 from 71.219.75.178

I am not a fan of veins, if any of mine pop out when I am working out I have to ignore them or I get sick to my stomach. REALLY, they pop out on my arms and legs and make me ill. The trainer laughs at me, but I literally get sick to my stomach.

Now, the veins on my hands I am just used to---they have been there forever.

From missy on Sat, Apr 24, 2010 at 14:29:46 from 75.162.124.171

Ah...you are silly kelli, vascularity just means you are lean. Have you ever seen an overweight person with popping veins. You should be proud of your fitness! :D When I am lifting weights..like a single arm row..with a dumbbell I will brace myself on the weight rack right up near the mirror (perfect height)...anyhow..I will get 3 veins in the center of my forehead I look like a freaking monster..haha.

From Kelli on Sat, Apr 24, 2010 at 14:36:19 from 71.219.75.178

Proof that you are the Incredible Hulk!!!

From missy on Sat, Apr 24, 2010 at 14:47:22 from 75.162.124.171

Lol...I take that as a compliment Kelli. :D Me Likey. So when are we going to go on a run together?!?!?! :)

From Kelli on Sat, Apr 24, 2010 at 15:37:31 from 71.219.75.178

Whenever you want, as long as you can slow down a bit for me.

From Scott Wesemann on Tue, Apr 27, 2010 at 14:46:56 from 66.239.250.209

Missy- HAHA! We have the same vein issues. Mine really pop up when I am hot or working out and I have the same problem with my forehead. my kids call it my Harry Potter vein. It looks like a lightning bolt.

From missy on Wed, Apr 28, 2010 at 12:37:58 from 75.162.125.160

That would be awesome Kelli...maybe after my race on the 15th, I can sneak in an extra run...hehe.

Scott..Yep, you me and Kelli need a vein pix together, we need to see if we can get Kelli's forehead to pop a vein too..haha.

From Kelli on Wed, Apr 28, 2010 at 17:50:11 from 71.219.75.178

I am pretty sure my forehead does not pop a vein. But my husband, who is bald, has a huge vein across the top of his head. YUCK!

From missy on Wed, Apr 28, 2010 at 18:00:57 from 75.162.125.160

Haha...well, I guess I am a weird lady, I think veins are wicked cool. :)
