Thanks Rhett. Yeah, I have still been showing up and pushing play every day. I'm starting to really notice some great changes in my level of fitness and it feels way to good to stop.

Sometimes I just get so slammed busy that I don't have time to come here and post until later.

thanks Dale. It was tough to get started but after a while it has become second nature. I just do it every day. No more debating should I or shouldn't I. I'm learning that there is something really powerful about full out commitment.

Rhett and Flat, I made it to day 44 (January 13) and then got knocked flat on my back by the flu. I've missed 6 days. It's embarrassing and frustrating to have to stop like that but with a raging fever and chills there was just no way I could justify working out. But I'm feeling almost back to 100% and I think tonight is going to be my first time back at it. I guess I'll just have to add those 6 days on the end and it will be more of a P96.

How's the weight loss coming along?

When I first started this I was losing about 2-3 pounds a week. Then I got a little slack with the eating plan and my weight just stayed steady. Since I got over teh flu and got back on track I haven't weighed myself but it feels like I have maybe dropped a pound or two.

Today I woke up feeling very fat and lethargic. All of the fitness gains I got from my P90 workouts seemed to have faded away as I have not worked out consistently in the past month or so. I have also spent way to much time in the drive up of fast food restaraunts. Today I just feel like a big fat beached whale. I have hit bottom. It's time to start over. A fresh start.

We have an 8k race in my home town in July. I'm going to train for it. I have about 3 months which is plenty of time if I start NOW. I will.

As I look at my past I have determined that I personally need three things in order to be successful in my fitness goals:

1. A specific measurable time/race goal.

2. A group to train with.

3. Change things up when it gets stale ie run new routes, new races etc. 

Today I got on the treadmill for 30 minutes alternating walking 4 min and running 1 min. yes, I'm really in that bad of shape. But, I'm a big believer in looking forward, not back!!

Hey Mack, I hope you are still looking forward to achieving your fitness goals. I agree that it is important to mix it up so the training doesn't stagnate. Having a training group is great too, but if you can't find one, I think posting on this blog achieves about the same thing.

 Been gone a long time. Enjoyed P90 and P90X. Now it feels like time to get back to running. I decided today that I will run a local 5k in mid September.

Went to a beautiful park this afternoon and walked 30 minutes briskly. Hey, gotta start somewhere. I'll walk again on Saturday and then start adding in some running on Monday. I'm going to ease into this like a beginner who has never run before.

Funny you should ask, Rhett. Today I have been feeling like it is time to get back into running. I have been a runner for 34 years. But for almost an entire year I have been away from it. Boredom, overwhelming church responsibilities, burnout. All of that kind of stuff. I did P90 and then P90X which was awesome. But at heart I'm a runner and it's time to get back after it. This afternoon I'm crafting a training plan for a 10K and I'm going to try to get back to blogging here like I did in the past too.
